3rd Pov

Loud cheers abrupt the front gateway as the squad finally made it back safely to their base. But the cheers got silent completely afterwards when they saw Ray drenched in dried blood, making them run for their asses like a madman. The group sweatdropped as they saw the crowd completely vanished from their sight in an instance. The commander came up to them while clapping his hand, congratulating them in their successful mission.

"Ah, you finally return. You all never fail to surprise me with your mission. Good job in retrieving the stone and saving a.... kid? Is that right Hiyama?" 

The group turned to see Hiyama blushing in embarrassment. He's the one that told the commander about Ariel after they got out of that temple. He apologized to them for letting it a secret. But they don't bother much. Ray handed the sleeping Ariel to the staff nurse that had just came by for further medication. 

The nurse spoke something to the commander before fleeing off. The commander nodded. "Alright ,you guys can take a break. But Ray, I want you to meet me in one hour. I'm sorry but there's something we need to discuss. Dismiss," the group went off to their own way. Ray stood there for a second processing the info before heading off to his own room.

He opened up the door and went inside. He threw his bloody jacket into a basket that was meant for cleaning before cleaning himself up. After that, he went to the kitchen to make some food before sitting at the couch while eating slowly as he thought back what the thug leader said about himself.

"Phantom.......... sounds familiar. That may be true. I mean, my other self did appear. He tried to take back the other Arithia. He killed Hikari as well. Is there a chance that I may-" he stopped his sentence as he looked at his hand. A sudden unbearable fear flew through his mind. 

His other self killed Hikari,  could he someday suddenly kill him too? Because of some stupid love that is not for him? Is it true, the phantom thing? He held his head in annoyance. Even though Arithia rejected him doesn't mean I'm gonna kill Hikari right? I'm happy for them. My emotions? I have no emotion. It's not because the rejection made me this way but....

It's in my nature.

I'm borned to kill. Who are my families? My parents? My friends? I never knew them. All I know is that the Delta Force commander, Astra, found me in a van. That's it. Nothing else. It's because all of that pain, struggles, torture and training made me this way. An assassin. I remembered it clearly when I was tasked to join the Hunter group to assist them.

"Ray, you are going to assist this group of people," Kaid showed him a file with pictures of the said group.

He picked it up while examining it one by one. He looked back to the commander in confusion.

"Why do I have to assist them. I barely know them," he lift his brow. Kaid shook his head.

"I've got a call from their leader saying that they need an ally that could feel up the group. Since their members decereased over the past few months, so I thought maybe you could give them a hand,"

"Their mission?"

"Saving the world from some beasts that came from another world. Apparently some guys were foolish enough to open up the portal and let out the monster. But also they are also a chance that they could find their other self since it's from another world,"

Ray wasn't satisfied enough. "But I thought they sue crystal and ancient stone that makes the powerful. Why do I need to be there too? I'm just a burden that only relies on technologies,"
