Numb, lost, that's all I could feel,
No emotions to express
Didn't want it to be real
Till you walked by
Turned on the radio of my heart.
Although the song played on repeat,
I never wanted it to stop.
But now, I don't want ever want to hear it again,
What use to bring me joy ...
Now only brings me pain.

Jade's POV
I hear the inter-compartment door slam, as someone approaches me from behind. Thankfully I don't need to turn around to figure out who it is. Her hyper voice gives her away. It's the woman whose chair I had taken. I realise the fault is mine but I moved eventually. Can this woman just leave me alone? It's bad enough that she wouldn't stop talking. But now she follows me here? Why does she have to make it harder than it is?
She is talking as per usual however I ignore her and look down at the railway track. A train is approaching rapidly, from the opposite direction. I take a deep breath, just a few minutes of pain, then it will all be over. I can do this I repeat, as I lean forward. I close my eyes and start counting. Five, four, three... Just when I am about to fur fill my mission, the girl puts her hand on my arm and pulls me back in with full force.
I turn around and face her. She has moved further back and is speaking frantically. The sound of the opposing train is so powerful that I cannot hear her. I see some carriages drive past through my peripheral vision. Wow, the train is fast, definitely more than this one. I gulp audibly, unable to stop the nerves from forming. The longer I wait, the harder this is going to be. I also hope that she hasn't picked up on what I was attempting to do.
"I realise the train can get claustrophobic but it's dangerous to be leaning out the door you realise?" she says, kindly.
Whew, she doesn't seem to have a clue. I will have to wait till the next stop or maybe somewhere else. The whole train moves past and I start hearing the woman.
"I was doing you a favour and asking you to come back to our seats before the collectors get here. They usually are quite impolite, to say the least, and they will get suspicious if we are walking around when they are collecting tickets!" she concludes.
