He had just filled his car with fuel at the petrol station when he spotted a commotion on the other side of the street. It was right in front of a store: Joe's Tattoo Parlor. He moved closer to see two dark figures pressed upon each other. The street light illuminated their faces. One was a tired, dirty man and the other a young lady. His eyes were instantly magnetised to the beautiful woman in the grasp of the man.
She has thick black hair pulled into a bun- curly strands laying flat around the crown of her head. Her chocolate skin provokes his eyes and shines in the dim light. Despite her bold complexion, the rest of her features were ethereal; her small lips and eyes matched the dip of her chin. Her neck is long and compliments her sculptures shoulders and collar bones. Her frame is petite and looked like it could break if handled carelessly. She had a strange and intriguing aura about her. Her brown eyes were scrunched up with pure hatred --they seemed to almost bore holes into the man she struggled with. Her angry face made her look all the more... alluring.
He had paid too much attention to her face that he didn't realize she was struggling to get out of the pursuing man's grip.
"Let me go,you creep!" Her raspy voice, argues. She pushes at the man but he moves closer licking her eyebrow.
"Why so 'eerheart?" The man's croaky voice responds
Walter sighs with exhaustion. He had just finished filling in a report at work. His boss was snipping off his last shred of patience. Him,being the hardest worker in the office was both good and bad. Everyone liked him and so they would give him work they weren't so good at. His boss didn't much hel either but pressured him to better.
Ever since he expressed his aptitude in marketing in a meeting, his boss was always on his case.
Of course,Walter would nod and work as he instructed. When he applied as a PA at Tinning's Commissions, he thought it would lead to a promotion soon since his position was closer to the branch manager. It's been three years and still nothing has come up. His pay was good but he wanted that dream life as a successful businessman-a sleek apartment and car and a fat bank account.Work is good but there's no crime in wanting a better life.
Tired and stressed out from not sleeping for three days, he had promised to drop flat-face on his bed as soon as he got to his apartment. Now this. He looks around him, shivering.
No one was around to help. The petrol station provided 24/7 self service- no one was in the petrol station store. His car was out of fuel. New self-service petrol stations were popping up in the city. The self-serviced ones before had to have a person supervising the amount of fuel used due to customers that would steal fuel. The ones used now have a meter and keep tabs on customers with cameras. Fines were promised in any case of robbing fuel.
Walter completely forgot he had to fill his car in the city. He realised this when he was out of the city and decided to use this petrol station even though he was not entirely familiar with the area. Now that he looked properly;he noticed the petrol station was not quite welcoming. It's the kind of place where a person stops for a drink in a remote area in a horror movie and ends up dead.He shivers, peeling his eyes for a threatening figure to approach the two. Maybe there are more than him. Maybe it's a trap.
He smacks his face mentally.
"Don't be fucking stupid." He winces as cold air blows against his face.
He rests his hand on the hood of the car contemplating the stakes at course. He couldn't just drive off and leave the girl struggling for her life. His home was far enough anyway.Who knows what would happen to her. She could suffer any kind of assault and be killed in the end. He shudders at the thought. It's a trick. Go home. His inner voice surfaces.
He hears a heavy thud from the two and breaks out of his thoughts. The girl's face is in pain as a trail of blood flows from her nose.
Shit! He's really going to kill her.
That's none of your business, get back in the car.
