Night turned to day and the dead man still lay in a pool of his blood. Not a soul had seen his dead state apart from Walter Wilkins and Simona Davis . This changed when a truck pulled into the petrol station grounds.

............. ............. ............ ............... ............ ............

The man who manages the Out o' City Petrol Station parked his truck in the parking lot. He steps out grabbing his flask of coffee and a container of donuts, balancing the two refreshments as he locked his car. Harold usually walks into the store as soon as he gets to work since no one is usually around at that hour of the morning. But, something compelled him to look across the road.

He turns to look and loses his grasp on his flask and container. Blood rushes from his head to his knees. He doesn't feel the burn of the coffee in his shoes as his flask hits the ground. He looks at the figure flat down on the ground, right in front Joe's Tattoo Parlor.

Despite his heavy weight, he got to the other side of the road in a flash. His fear increased by the second as he approached the still body. He sees to his horror,a man, laying flat on his stomach with his head turned to the side, his mouth agape. Blood surrounds him--some of it absorbed by the soil and frozen.

"Steve." Harold whispers feeling his heartbeat doing nothing good to his mind, nor his body. He recognized the dirty khaki coat that the drunkard possessed. Fortunate for him he could see its actual colour, the red colour of his blood had taken over it's natural colour. He would know that jacket anywhere, anyway. It was as disgusting and dirty like its owner,Steve Phill.

The old toad would clean his toilets when he wasn't busy pestering customers. He was always giving crude remarks to passers by. Some would engage in his words and some just ignored him.He used his pay for booze.

He wouldn't stay in one place but would clean in several places so as long as he got his fill of liquor. The man was a real brute when he was drunk. To be honest, he was a brute either way, especially to women.

There have been several cases when he's been to the police station under assault charges. Harold didn't really know why he hadn't been sent to jail at all. The cases were pretty convincing. Maybe they didn't take him seriously because he was a drunk but that would mean them lazy.

To think the bitter ones lived longer. Maybe his days were numbered after all. Harold thought.

Who would do such a thing? And leave him here like this, not bothering to cover up their tracks?

He doesn't move any further to contaminate himself with the fluid. He takes out his phone and dials 911, as if that was the right number to call the police. Who cared? He better inform them real soon. As much as he didn't like to admit, he was curious to know who had done this in the first place. After all, not much goes down in this place apart from road smuggling.

He looks back at Steve's blank eyes that reflect his blood. "Fuck!" He exclaims.
There's a reply from a woman on the other side of the phone,"911.What is your emergency?"
"Uh, well... How can I say this? It's not an emergency actually. It's more of a uh... dead situation." He scratches his head still rattled with the discovery his made.
"Please explain your situation sir." The woman replies impatiently.
"I just found a dead body across from my petrol station." He breathed out noticing how horrible it felt saying out loud.
"Please mention the name of your petrol station."
"Out of City Petrol Station." He grunts.

"Which branch?"
"The one just outside Tinning City."

There's a pause on the other side of the phone.
"Okay sir, I have tracked your location. What area are you and the body?"

"Uh... Across from my station in front of a tattoo parlor."
"
Please step away from the crime scene and wait for the police to arrive. They will arrive in ten minutes."
"Okay."
"Next time sir, use the number;111 to contact the police in such situations. Do you understand?" The woman adds.
"Absolutely, thank you." The line cuts.

He runs his hand through his hair as he steps away from  dead Steve. He sits on a rickety bench a fair distance away from the body. He looks back at  lifeless Steve and blurts out," I know I should feel sorry for you, but to be honest, you got what was coming to you buddy."

The manager of the Petrol Station waited until the police arrived fifteen minutes later. Across from him, a flask of coffee and a container of donuts lay still on the ground. They're owner had completely forgotten of their existence.
