~~~the next day at school~~~
~~~Damian's point of view~~~
(Y/n) and I were sitting together at the school gates waiting for (mb/n) and Luke, so we could practice again. Unlike yesterday, they were both late.
"Angel, if they don't show up in the next ten minutes can we leave?" I asked my girlfriend who was leaning against me.
"Yeah, I think we've given them plenty of time," she sighed.
Just after she said that Luke and (mb/n) walked over.
"Miss me?" Luke smirked.
"You're 40 minutes late! That's worse than yesterday!" (Y/n) shouted at him. "Let's just go." She grabbed her guitar, kissed me goodbye, told me she'd see me at the manor, and left with Luke. I watched her walk away, wishing I could follow her.
"So, lets goooooo!" (Mb/n) screeched.
"Yes, lets go," I nodded and we headed toward the manor.~~~your point of view ~~~
You reached Luke's place and discovered that he and his mom shared an apartment. Luke walked up the steps and unlocked the door. You followed him into the apartment and you two climbed the steps till your reached the level that Luke lived on. He unlocked the door and shouted, "Mom, I'm home!"
"Hi sweetie!" a woman shouted back. Luke locked the door behind us and led me into the kitchen where a lady I assumed to be his mom was. She had brown hair with a few grey streaks, light brown eyes, and a kind smile. "Who's this?" she asked, stopping to look at us.
"This is (Y/n). We're working on a school project together." Luke explained.
"Nice to meet you Luke's mom," I smiled, extending my hand.
"It's nice to meet you too!" she took my hand in hers and grinned. "Go on and go work on your project! I'll bring some snacks in a few minutes!"
"Ok thanks mom!" Luke called, guiding me to the living room. It was a nice apartment with an industrial decor style. The furniture had black metal frames and tables had wooden surfaces. There were some potted plants and metal lamps were hanging from the ceiling.
"Nice place," I commented, glancing around as I sat on his couch. I set down my bag and guitar case, retrieving my instrument and preparing to play.
"Thanks," Luke sighed, setting his stuff down. "Ready to keep going?"
"Yep," I smiled. We practiced for a few minutes before his mom came in with sandwiches and sliced strawberries.
"You guys are sounding good," she smiled at us, setting down the food on the coffee table in front of us.
"Thanks mom," Luke smiled, taking a sandwich from the plate.
"Thank you," you agreed, eying the strawberries.
"No problem kids, just put the plates in the sink when you're done! Luke, I'll be working in my bedroom." She smiled once again and turned to walk towards what I assumed was her bedroom.
"Want to take a break to eat?" You asked.
"Sure," Luke nodded.
You set down your guitar and picked up a strawberry. Once you finished your strawberry, you grabbed your phone and saw Damian had texted you.Damian:
Save me.
Please.
She's crazy. 🥺
You:
It'll be ok. Hang in there."How long have you been staying at Wayne manor?" Luke asked. You turned to look at him.
"Maybe about three years?" You guessed.
"Oh," Luke nodded. "Ready to start again?" He had finished off the sandwiches and was stacking the plates.
"Yeah, lets go," you pulled up your guitar and started the song again.~~~time skip~~~
After a few hours it was time for you to return home to Wayne manor.
"I think we're ready for presentations!" You grinned, packing up your guitar and school bag.
"Agreed!" Luke nodded as he watched you prepare to leave. "Do you need a ride home?"
"No thanks, Damian's brother is picking me up," you smiled as you headed towards the door.
"Okay, see you tomorrow then," he smiled as he opened the door for you and the two of you headed down the stairs to the street level. He let you out and you spotted Dick's car.
"See ya, tell your mom I said thank you for the snacks," you nodded before heading to the car and Luke closed the door behind you. "Hey Dick," you greeted as you got in the passenger seat.
"Hey (Y/n), how was practice?" He smiled as he put the car in drive and headed towards the manor.
"It was good. We're ready for the presentation." you commented.
"That's good," he nodded. The two of you rode in silence until you reached the manor. "(Mb/n) left earlier. It was really hard to get her to go. Now I know why you guys don't like dealing with her."
"Yeah, it's hard to deal with," you sighed, getting out of the car. The two of you headed inside and you were greeted by Damian running up to you and hugging you. "Hi Cinnabon! Let me put my things down!" You waved to Dick. "See you at dinner!" You and Damian headed upstairs so you could put your school stuff in your room. "How was practice my love?"
"It was awful," he grumbled, hugging you tightly.
"Awww, what happened?" you sighed, hugging him back and running your hands through your hair.
"She kept insisting we were on a date and she couldn't stay focused for five minutes. When she found out I could sing, she wouldn't shut up and was even less focused. When it was time to leave, she didn't want to and refused to get up." he complained.
"Well you could always ask the teacher if you could have an opportunity to perform alone for your own grade and explain your situation," you explained. "She's really understanding; she'll probably let you."
"I suppose," he mumbled. You heard a knock at the door and you slipped out of Damian's arms to answer.
"Hello?" You opened the door to find Tim.
"Come down you two; it's dinner time. Alfred made risotto," Tim smiled.
"Come on Cinnabon," you gently grabbed his hand and led him downstairs for dinner.~~~time skip to the next week at school~~~
You were waiting for Damian outside your music class. He was requesting the opportunity to be graded based on his own work instead of the partner project. You were thinking about what you were going to do next as the Siren when Damian emerged from the room. "She said yes." He sighed with relief.
"That's good!" You smiled and hugged him. "Ready for class?"
"No," he grumbled.
"Awww, it'll be ok," you smiled and pat him on the head. The bell rang signaling that everyone should be in class. You and Damian walked into the music room and took your seats. Luke casually strolled in with more of your classmates and (mb/n) ran in after. They took seats next to you and Damian.
"So are you guys ready?" (Mb/n) asked, glaring at you.
"We're definitely ready!" Luke smiled at you.
"Ok quiet everyone!" Your teacher announced. "We're going to start presentations right away!" You all sat quietly as the performances commenced with some mumbled chatter and high fives thrown in.
"Our turn," Luke turned to you. You grabbed your guitar and followed him up to the front of the room. Luke was a good singer, but Damian was better. The time seemed to pass quickly as you skillfully played the song with Luke singing and playing his part. Once you finished, you returned to your seats, and Damian and (Mb/n) took the stage. Damian sounded like and angel, but it was unfortunate that he was not given the best accompanist. Either way, they completed their assignment and took a seat. After a few more presentations, the bell rang signaling the lunch period.
"Good job Dami," you smiled, grabbing hold of your boyfriend's hand. You two headed to the cafeteria and we're joined by Luke and (mb/n).
"That was awesome!" Luke grinned.
"Totally! I was so good!" (Mb/n) cheered. The group went silent.
"Uhhhh, sureeeeee," Luke dragged out uncomfortably, glancing at you and Damian to say something.
"Don't worry Luke. Just ignore it," you told him with a sigh. "We'll see you later." You and Damian left your project partners and went to eat lunch.
