~~~Your point of view~~~
       Damian had stopped talking to you since the night in the library, and it was bothering you, especially since you had feelings for him. Every time you tried to talk to your best friend, he would walk away as if he didn't hear you. You knew he heard you because he would look at you before walking again. You had only been with the Wayne family for a while but you had known them for almost four years. Up until now, Damian had always been by your side, and you missed him.
You trained with Bruce and Dick a little, but you didn't need much training since you had already been taught to fight by the Riddler.
       Today was Saturday, and Dick had arranged for Barbara to take you shopping for more than just jeans and t-shirts. You were given money then driven to the mall to meet Barbara. You were wearing the leather jacket Damian had given you over a black t-shirt and jeans. Now you understood why Dick was sending you to go shopping. You met up with Barbara in the food court, you had met her a few times before but had never really spent time with her until now. She took you to several stores matching different shirts with your leather jacket and getting you new styles to try as well. You liked a lot of what she picked and you were happy spending time with her. You had bought new tops, bottoms, jackets, sweaters, scarves, accessories, and a few other really nice pieces; but Barbara wanted to get you some shoes as well. She led you into a shoe store with no other customers and grabbed a few examples of black boots, some of which had heels. Heeled shoes had always interested you, but you never had a chance to try them. You asked if you could try a pair of black ankle boots.
       "Have you worn heels before?" Barbara asked as you put them on.
       "No," you shrugged, standing up. You walked around normally. You were surprised at how easy it was and how comfortable the shoes seemed to be.
       "You're a natural," Barbara smiled.
       "Thanks?" you weren't sure if it was a compliment. "Can we get these?" You asked.
       "Sure, you can move easily and you appear to be quite comfortable in them. Pick out some other shoes, and we can pay." She told you. You chose some black leather boots with heels and tried them on. You decided to get those as well and you and Barbara paid. You and she decided to get lunch together and sat down in the food court where you had met. You checked your phone. You hadn't told Damian where you were going and usually, he would be worried about you and tried to call, but there were no missed calls or messages. Did he stop caring?
       "What's wrong?" Barbara asked.
       "It's nothing," you flashed a fake smile.
       "No, I recognize that look something's wrong and I'm guessing that it has to do with a boy," she smiled.
       "He's my best friend, but he hasn't talked to me for a while. Usually, he just avoids me at school. Today I didn't tell him I was coming here. Before he would have tried to call or text me asking where I am, but this time, nothing." You sighed.
       "What boy are you talking about?" She asked looking into your eyes.
       "Damian," you answered.
       "Ah, Damian. He is usually a little reserved when it comes to people isn't he?" Barbara asked.
       "Maybe, but he hasn't acted like this towards me since I met him." You responded sadly and told her about Damian. Barbara's phone rang. She picked it up and answered.
       When she was done talking she turned back to you. "Dick is here to pick you up."
       "Okay," you picked up your bags and walked towards the door with her.
       "Can I give you some advice?" She asked.
       "Sure," you smiled at her.
       "From what you told me about Damian I don't think that all of this is true in this case, but when it comes to boys, if they avoid or hurt you it could be that they truly don't like you or that they have feelings for you and don't know how to deal with them. Seeing that Damian was your best friend for years before this started, I think it's the latter and that he's not doing any of this on purpose, but if you want to know the truth, ask him." Barbara advised you.
       "I'll think about it, thanks Barbara," you smiled.
      "You like him too don't you?" She asked softly.
       "I do," you blushed. "How did you know?"
       "Your eyes light up when you talk about him, even now. You need to fix this because I don't think he will, at least not without help, he won't." Barbara told you. Dick pulled up in front of you.
       "I'll try," you smiled, climbing into the car. Dick drove back to the manor and you walked up to your room and set your stuff down before grabbing your guitar and heading to the library.
~~~Damian's point of view~~~
       I was in my room sitting on my bed, looking at my wall of artwork. All of them were graphite or colored pencil drawings of Y/n or places I want to take her, on picnics, to the movies, and other date-like things. I got up and left my room. I quietly walked to the library and opened the door a crack to find Y/n sitting on one of the sofas just like the night we had sung together. She had her guitar and was singing.

                 ~~~Italics - you~~~
                ~~~Start the song~~~

I don't know why but my hands are shaking
I can see you coming and I stand here waiting
Yeah I get tongue tied in the conversation
It's an f'd up, bad, sick situation

I tried to tie my heart down, board up all the windows
Oh but it's too late now
I let you get too close
I know I should take cover, hide inside these four walls
But baby I surrender, it all

'Cause you're a force of nature
Look at what you've done
I can taste the danger, but I don't wanna run
So pull me to the ground and I won't put up a fight
I'm a caution taker, but baby you're a force of nature

Baby you're a force of nature

I feel your lips move in and they take me under
You know just what to do, how to make me want ya
And I know I'll be broken when it's over
Oh but I can't help but pull you closer

I've tried to tie my heart down, board up all the windows
Oh but it's too late now
I let you get too close

'Cause you're a force of nature
Look at what you've done
I can taste the danger, but I don't wanna run
So pull me to the ground and I won't put up a fight
I'm a caution taker, but baby you're a force of nature

I'll be here 'till we collide
I don't care if I survive
So crash into me one more time
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, oh

'Cause you're a force of nature
Look at what you've done
I can taste the danger, but I don't wanna run
So pull me to the ground and I won't put up a fight
I'm a caution taker, but baby you're a force of nature

Baby you're a force of nature

Baby you're a force of nature

Baby you're a force of nature

                  ~~~End of song~~~
       Y/n sang with love and passion like these words were her exact feelings, and I couldn't help but feel jealous of whoever she was singing about. Carefully I closed the door and walked back to my room.
~~~Your point of view~~~
       You finished the song and sat in silence. You stared at the burning logs in the fireplace. You had a crush on Damian, no more than a crush, you had fallen in love with your best friend and it was driving you crazy. It was breaking your heart that he would barely talk to you. You just wanted things to go back to the way they used to be. You hadn't cried in a long time, even when you were being beaten by your father, but you weren't used to the pain of heartbreak. You wanted to believe that Barbara was right, that Damian was doing this because he liked you, but you just couldn't. Years of physical and mental torment had made you doubt that someone would like you more than a friend. Finally, alone and safe, hidden in the library, you let one tear slip out.
