Chapter 3

-Light's POV-
I could hold him here forever. This is perfect. This is true happiness.
"We should get up, the others will be here soon." L broke the silence.
"I don't want to." I sighed.
L looked up at me, "Neither do I but we have work to do."
L tried to wiggle out of my arms but I wouldn't let him. I let out a giggle.
"Light, this is not funny."
"You're cute when you're annoyed."
L turned pink, "Get up."
I grumbled and let him go. He stood up and motioned for me to follow suit.
"We'll go eat breakfast before the others arrive." he said confidently.
He knew that food would get me out of bed. I got up and we walked side by side to the elevator.

-L's POV-
     I stared at Light while we were in the elevator. How could a person look so perfect? His hair fell perfectly, even though we just got out of bed. His brown eyes sparkle and his lips are beautiful. I walked closer to him but then the elevator door opened. Watari was on the other side. What would he think? Watari looked into my eyes questioningly but just smiled and said, "I have prepared breakfast for you two."
"Thank you, Watari."
I'd have to deal with that later. We walked out of the elevator and made our way to the kitchen. I saw my cake and I assumed the eggs and bacon were for Light. I sat on the counter and Light stood to eat. He finished a few minutes before me. He looked at me and smirked.
"You have frosting on your face."
I was slightly embarrassed. I started to reach up to wipe it from my face but a tug on the chain pulled my hand down. I looked at Light, clearly confused.
"I'll get it." he said.
He walked closer to me, very close. He was just an inch from my face. I felt his hand wipe the frosting from my face. We were so close. I wanted him more than anything in this world. He closed the gap between us, pushing his lips against mine. At first, I was caught off guard but soon I started kissing him back. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled my body closer, deepening the kiss.

-Light's POV-
This is heaven. I want to do this forever. A gasp came from the doorway, causing us to separate.
"Uh... uh sorry." Matsuda said in shock.
"It's not what you think!" I pleaded.
I quickly backed away from L, pulling him off the counter. I went into protective mode and lunged forward, catching him before he hit the floor, my knees scraping against the hardwood through my pants.
"Good catch." Matsuda laughed nervously.
"Matsuda, you can't tell anyone, especially not my father." I begged.
"Your secret is safe with me, plus I always knew you two would get together." he giggled.
L blushed hard and so did I. Matsuda just stood in the doorway.
"Um, can you get out?"
"Oh, uh yeah." he laughed and walked away.

-L's POV-
     Matsuda left the room and Light set me down on the floor next to him. He then grabbed his knees and winced. My Light was hurt. My Light. I liked the sound of that. I stood up and grabbed Light's hand, helping him up.
"We should go check out those knees."
"I'm fine." then he winced again.
"Light." I looked at him as if to say I'm not stupid.
"Fine."
We walked out of the kitchen and into the room where we conducted our investigation, all of the task force was there.
"Good morning." Light's dad, Soichiro Yagami, said.
"Oh, good morning. I have to go to the bathroom, we'll be right back." I lifted my wrist to remind him of the chains. "Start without us."
"Okay." Soichiro replied.
I started to walk towards the bathroom and Light followed as far as he could behind, probably because his father was here. I was slightly hurt at the thought. When we arrived at the bathroom, I locked the door.
