Dipper yawns and stretches, but he doesn't hit the barrel walls as usual. He sets up and looks around,
The open water greets him.
He instantly swims up to the surface, no ship in sight. No sign of the black ship, no sign of Bill, no sign of anyone.
Dipper let's himself drift down to the ground. He lands with a soft thud and some sand is unsettled. He scrunches up on the sea floor and cries. (Shut the duck up about not being able to cry in the water! He's got a demon boyfriend, cut the dude some slack!)
He cried for what seemed like hours, but was a mer half of one.
He just laid there, emotions spilling out.
He even heard someone approach but didn't react. The thing pokes his shoulder, he didn't move. "Are you dead? Please don't be dead!" The thing said, it had a recognizable voice, Mable. "I screwed up..." Is all he said. Mable pulled him close as he let more tears fall, she tried to reassure him in a loving manner. "I messed up..." "What happened" "I got close to him, knowing nothing good would happen, but I still did" "that isn't your fault. Your brain says to trust no one, but your heart wants to trust most. And in this case, I think you may need to listen to your heart".
Dipper smiled at his sister and hugged her. "Thank you" he whispered. She hugged back, "what are sisters for".
