[A/N: I even proofread it!!!! Yay!]
"I'm a Craig."
Jungkook dumbly stares at Jimin, rummaging through his brain to find anything that matches his understanding. It's not a successful attempt.
"Ever heard of Craigslist?"
"Oh! Yeah I did."
Jimin purses his lips, nodding once slowly. "When I was in high school, my friends and I used to hire these random people from Craigslist and get them to do a bunch of funny stuff just for the hell of it. You know, teenage garbage," he shrugs with a smile. Jungkook smiles back. He can only imagine how crazy Jimin's friends were from the little hint of admittance. "I eventually stopped when I got into university, but after I got suspended..."
The silent pause is self-explanatory.
"You became the Craig," Jungkook completes it for him. Jimin nods with a chuckle, a defeated look in his eyes. He doesn't look like he hates the thought of it albeit.
"It's cringey when I talk about it so I try not to, as much as possible. But that's what happened, y'know?... I was out of school and uh, at the time my father was moving out of Gidae to settle in Busan. I didn't want to go with him, so I stayed behind and went on the very website, where I eventually started making a living."
Jungkook shakes his head in confusion, deciding to ask about Jimin's mother later. "Wait wait, Busan?"
Jimin nods happily.
"Do you happen to be from Busan, hyung?"
Jimin watches the roof as he thinks his answer through. "My father is from Busan. His side of the family lives there although I personally never went to the city. Gidae is all I know," his gaze lands on Jungkook. "Why, you are from Busan?"
Jungkook is elated, nods enthusiastically. They have another common point, which is pathetic when you think about how detached Jimin feels from the city but still. A bonus is a bonus. "I lived there only until middle school. My parents moved to Seoul to expand their businesses so I mostly grew up in the metropolitan city. But I absolutely love Busan! All my extended family lives there and I visited them on the weekends before moving to Gidae."
Jimin smiles small. "That's really nice, Jungkookie."
Something tells Jungkook there is a story behind the complicated past of Jimin's family, his identity and belonging. He must have had a hard time trying to survive on his own, and by the looks of the trailer he is living in, he is still struggling.
"I can take you there one day," Jungkook offers amiably. "It'll be our road trip. I'll show you the town and maybe we can visit your family!"
Jimin's eyes grow in surprise and he retreats. "Y-yeah. Would be nice." He blinks fast and not so believably mutters a "maybe one day".
Jungkook purses his lips. Maybe he shouldn't have said that.
"So, you were talking about Craigslist?" he tries changing the subject, which thank God, effectively awakens Jimin from his thoughts. "You got all of these jobs of yours from Craigslist, then?"
"Yes. Crazy, I know," Jimin chuckles softly. "At first I was randomly applying to everything I gathered but because of my high school antics I could make out a scam from a proper posting. Eventually I landed on some good recruiters and established long-term bonds with them. I don't pick up new jobs from the website now, but I do have a fixed weekly schedule of various stuff that I do."
Jungkook's shoulders jump up and down in excitement. Listening to Jimin talk about his unusual life is very fun. Also the tone of his voice is soft and creamy, which makes Jungkook want to listen to him talk for hours. "What do you now, for example?"
