Patton's POV
I woke up with my stomach hurting even more. The wind blew softly, having the grass act like feathers to my very ticklish arms and neck. Some of the green fog was trickling over where I was outside of Remus's memories, but it does not bother me anymore.
I knew I had to get something to eat, but everything that was food around here, was a hologram of some side's past memories. Even if there was real food in this place, I would have no idea where to find it at. If I didn't jump I would have had food. Then again, I thought I would be dead when I jumped, or at least loose my physical form.
I decided to walk down to the next side's memories. Since of course we are crossing the line between the dark and light sides, Roman was next. It only made sense that his path was right next to his brother's. I started near the beginning, where Remus' path ended, and walked in, being greeted by the smell of a hot glue gun that has been running for hours.
I first came across a memory f Roman hard at work. He looked to be around 3. Logan, was next to him, insisting that he did all the work with the hot glue gun so the young prince didn't hurt himself. He had a bent up piece of cardboard covered in gold glitter and rainbow sticker gems. I remember this clear as day, I wasn't in the room, but this is when Roman decided he wanted to be a Prince. He spent all day coming up with his costume.
He had Logan help him most of the time with the harder or more dangerous aspects, while Roman just supplied the ideas and materials to him. Logan did things like work with hot glue, sew, pin, and supervise the kiddo while he used safety scissors. They spent most of the day on the main part of the costume, the clothes. Roman had a white button-up top from an Easter Sunday that has come on gone. Nothing much was done to it, except Logan took off the buttons and stitched it up, so it looked like regular dress shirt.
The most important part of the outfit, was the sash. Roman had an old baby blanket that was given to him when he first appeared. Roman took it out on adventures and to explore so much, that it was falling apart. Even a good sew job could not fix this blanket. But, Roman swore on ¨Prince's honor¨ that he would never get rid of, and always take care of, the blanket. So, he turned the only good strip of fabric left of it into a sash for his costume. It is funny to think because he still kept that promise, even to this day.
I next got to watch Logan and Roman make the accessories. They made the crown I mentioned earlier with cardboard, glitter, and sticker gems. They made a sword with cardboard too, but Logan insisted that they didn't make the edge pointy like regular swords. The Prince was confused why, so Logan explained with a lie. This is the most creative I have seen the teacher get, not to mention he lied for the safety of everyone. ¨Sharpness of a sword can't cut through dragon scales.¨ Logan started, ¨Since the scales are to strong to be stabbed through, you will need a dull edge to get underneath there scales and yank them off. It does not seem like a lot of damage, but it is the human equivalent of someone ripping off your toe nails.¨
Roman gagged at the thought, but agreed it would be best to fight dragons that way, so he let Logan dim his sword. Lastly, they made a shield. Roman drew the temple on a giant piece of cardboard and Logan used a razor blade to cut it. He the took the hot glue and made a handle on the back. Roman would not leave his room for the rest of the day, or at least until he finished his shield design. It was close to what it looks like today but colored sloppily in crayon on a wrinkled piece of cardboard.
At dinner that night, Roman did not walk into the dinning room like usual. he took the time to roll out a red carpet made up of red towels tied together, blare his kazoo, then announce himself as he marched in. ¨Gentlemen of the dinner table, please welcome your prince of the imagination, Roman!¨ I stood up and clapped for the little guy, he looked too cute not to, but Logan was not very pleased.
¨Roman, that is not proper clothing to wear at the dinner table." Roman moaned and whined, and I pulled Logan off to the side. ¨Come on, you and Roman spent all day on that outfit, just let him wear it for today.¨ I could tell that he was going to say no, but then I hit him with the puppy eyes, and he agreed. The three of us ate dinner happily that night.
I guessed I kept walking while thinking about that memory because I was now standing in Roman's more current memories. I walked down a little but further. My steps where getting slow and weary. My chest was moving up and down slowly and deeply, but not because I was breathing fine, but because I couldn't breathe.
By now, I was at the end of this section of the road, the darkness around me slowly getting light. Then, a bright light blinded me from the side. I shielded my face with my hands and squinted my eyes, trying not to fumble over from the light. As much as I tried not to, I did end up falling to the ground. Luckily though, the light got dimmer after a couple minutes. I looked up in shock of a new memory, one just created in fact.
Roman was in my room standing in front of Deceit and Remus who where in my doorway. I didn't get to catch most of the words being said, all I heard was screaming, and that was enough to get a twisted feeling in my stomach going.
I dont like yelling, I hate yelling. All it does is scare. The point of yelling and screaming is to get someone to hear you, but I think all it does is mute.
