Logan's POV

I was awake working for about an hour before a knock came at my door. ¨You may come in.¨ I turned in my desk chair to see the door open. Virgil stepped inside  and then he motioned for Roman to do the same. And he was supposed to be the anxious one?

¨Good morning you two, do you need help with anything?¨ Virgil glanced at Roman and Roman glanced at the floor, this can not be good. ¨Well, Virgil and I where wondering if you would like to head down stairs with us, I made pancakes for us and I would like to spend some time with you.¨

I couldn't help but let a small sliver of a smile creep across my face. I stood up and stepped towards the two. Roman stepped back and got defensive and Virgil turned to the side to face the same way I was, once again, who is anxiety? ¨Of course, we should get down before it gets too cold.¨

We all walked down the stairs, one after the other, until we reached the ground floor. Virgil stumbled on the last step, but he got right to his normal walking habits with one smooth motion from the trip to him continuously walking. ¨I already set up everything on the table! Maple syrup, butter, fruit, and of course we can't forget the Crofters.¨ Roman exclaimed proudly. We both clapped... for some reason, and he took a couple bows.

¨Hey, while you where busy bowing, you must have not noticed that this is two plates, where is the third?¨ Virgil said it in a joking way, but joking to the point where it sounded serious, but it totally wasn't. Roman didn't seem phased that he had to stop his bowing session. ¨I already had my plate. I burnt the first 3 pancakes a bit, so I claimed them so you guys didn't have to eat burnt pancakes.¨

Usually, I wouldn't believe Roman when he said something like this, he had a reputation of not eating, but, I did have evidence that he was telling the truth. The kitchen smelt like burnt batter and I noticed that the sink had burn flakes in them as I walked past. I gave Virgil a look to tell him not to worry, and then I turned towards my plate and started eating as Roman started on the dishes.

I sat there chowing down on everything on my plate. Virgil looked up a couple times and gave me weird glances, but that didn't matter too much. I can not believe that I am saying this at all, but I think that this is better than Patton's Puffcakes, and let me tell you, Virgil would do anything for Patton's Puffcakes. It looks like though, I am not the only one who thought the same way.

I was on my last round of berries and I saw Virgil get up and grab the last 4 pancakes from the plate on the counter. ¨Okay, dark pit, those where for Sl... later.¨ He paused, which I could not figure out why. ¨We might not be able to, or want to, cook later. That is why I made these, to reheat for later, but if you insist on eating them, I will allow it.¨ Virgil didn't even wait for Roman to finish his sentence. He was already done with 3 of the pancakes.

¨Roman, what kind of drugs did you lace in these pancakes?¨ ¨Logan, I am not a druggie. They are actually good!¨ I was confused and Roman gave out a breathy laugh. ¨I remembered as a kid making the puffcakes with Remus and Patton. I did the same recipe with some twists and spins of my own to create something new. I added vanilla, which may sound gross, but clearly it was good. and I added a couple thin slices of banana to the mix and it melted a bit.¨

Virgil and I sat there speechless. ¨Roman, I am thoroughly impressed. This is extravagant.¨ Roman began to blush and a wiggly smile crept onto his face. ¨This may sound weird, but I think you make them better than Patton. Your creative abilities make it easier for you to see things in a new light and try new possibilities. Of course I love Patton, but he always had to follow his recipe book.¨ Virgil turned around to finish his pancakes after saying that and that must have sparked an idea in Roman's complex brain.

¨What if I look through Patton's cook book and recreate all of the recipes to make them new! It can keep me busy, all of us fed, and we can let Patton live on through it.¨ Virgil looked down, starting to fidget with his sleeve before looking up again. ¨Can we not talk about Patton right now?¨ His breathing picked up ever so slightly before he put his plate in the sink and went up stairs.

I could see guilt and sorrow thicken on the Prince's pale face. ¨Roman, you are fine. This is just complicated. I was wonder though if you would be interested in a memorial for Patton, of sorts. Like, we can watch old home movies and look at his scrap books. I can see if Virgil is comfortable going anything.¨

The Prince looked around, on and off scrunching his face. ¨I would love too, but¨ I cut Roman off before he can continue. ¨It is okay to say no, but remember while we are there, it is also okay to cry.¨ The Prince looked up, half relieved, half frustrated. ¨Thank you, Logan. Although, I was going to ask if the dark sides are coming? I dont think now is the best time to be socializing with them. They hurt us, and we have been hurt enough, Logan. Not to mention Virgil might start acting up again if they are invited.¨

I look at him, straightening myself out to look like I am serious. Of course, I always am serious, but I wanted what I say to stick out to Roman. ¨Virgil did the same thing. Jut get to know Janus and Remus and we will be able to get along, hopefully. That is what Patton would have wanted. For us to be a giant... fam I.L.Y.¨

Roman turned bright red. ¨You think I dont already know them? I spent most of my childhood with Janus when he would trick me into stealing from you and Patton. I find it especially interesting that you are telling me to give Remus a second chance, WHEN IT WAS YOU AND PATTON WHO SEPARATED US! We where happy as one being, and what do you do? You separate us. We were happy being brothers, playing in the imagination and what do you do? Drag Remus to the dark side realm because his creations where not up to Patton's standards. I WILL confront Virgil about your idea, but we are not inviting them.¨

Before I could talk, Roman was already half way upstairs. What am I going to do?
