Logan's POV
Deceit left and I was in the room with Virgil alone. He looked a bit better, but this can take week, or even months, of recovery. I do not know how to fix the intense glitching, but I will do what I can to try.
I put the blanket on top of Virgil so that he wouldn't get cold, then I put the stuffed doll next to his arms, ready to be grabbed if he woke up and saw it. I didn't want to move Im to much, so I was not going to take him to his bed, but I lifted his head slightly to put the pillow under his heavy head. I turned on the music box and twisted it enough to go for a couple minutes. I moved it a bit far from Virgil so the noise wouldn't be too loud.
I liked helping Virgil, to an annoying degree. I like how my concerns of him can drown out the dark cloud over my head that was created by the absence of Patton and my own dark thoughts. It was hard for me to focus and to keep from screaming, but taking care of Virgil helped calm myself down.
Wait.
Is that how Patton felt when he took care of one of us? Did he cradle Virgil because he wanted to block out his rain cloud? That makes a lot of sense. Especially when he gave himself the title of "dad" so that he can take care of us with out it being creepy or anything. It is all coming together now.
After I got Virgil comfortable, you could slightly tell that he was calm and just being pulled away to dream land, but his glitching was still shaky. I didn't know how to stop the glitching, I wish I knew how.
Knew how...
Patton is gone. I let that fact sink in a little too much at this moment. I broke out into an open sob as I tried to hold in a scream. I can't leave Virgil alone, but I would like to run out onto that balcony and follow Patton, jump into the unknown. But, I think I am taking Patton's place as the "father figure".
Virgil started sitting up and opening his eyes. I couldn't tell if he was hurt or not. A hot sweat broke out as Virgil moaned and rubbed his head. I decided not to bring anything up until he does.
"Hello Virgil, are you feeling any better?" He looked up at me as if I was a complicated math problem, with a tilted head and squinted eyes. "Yeah, I'm doing fine... I guess. I just have a headache, and my back kinda hurts." I sighed with relief. It doesn't seem that the glitching was hurting him, but for some reason he didn't bring it up.
He took a second and starred at his hands. His eyes where still foggy and his mouth was still twitchy, but he didn't seem to notice his glitching. "I am a bit hungry, I might get some food." Virgil then stood up and took a shaky step forward. The moment his first heel hit the floor, he fell with a little squeak leaving his mouth. Luckily, I was still right by him and I was able to catch him from hitting the floor.
His limp body glitched in my hands. "S... sorry Logan, I ju... I just." I cut him off, to a surprised look form Virgil. "I get it, you don't need to continue. You should head to Patton's bed and get under the covers. I'll go make you something to eat. I should make something for everyone else too while Im at it. What would you like?"
Virgil looked around with a puzzling expression. Virgil never really has eaten much, so I am glad that he is even considering food. "Can I have some Pizza Rolls or Romen Noodles?" Virgil asked this with a tilt to his head and a pout to lips. I dont know why though, did he expect me to say no and he was giving me... puppy eyes?"
"Okay," I smiled at him, which took him back a bit, but he smiled back. It was a very weak smile, but I could tell that he tried. "I'll go ask Roman what he wants too. I'll be back in about 10 minutes. Patton keeps his TV remote in the drawer of his side table if you want to watch some television. He has a couple movies recorded. I know for a fact he has a couple documentaries."
Virgil nodded his head and fell back onto Patton's pillows, giraffe plush and baby blanket firmly in his arm. I slowly shut the door as quiet as I could, as not to disturb him, and I walked down the hall to Roman's room.
