It's been over twenty-four hours since I've been home.
That's what I realise as I'm unlocking the front door to the house I share with Josh.
I find him in the living room, and apart from the fact that Arden isn't with him anymore, it looks like he hasn't moved much since I left. He's got a smirk on his face, 'must've been some date,' he laughs and motions for me to come and sit down next to him on the sofa.
Then I realise how it must look. The last thing he heard from me was that I didn't mind if it was a date, then twenty-four hours I come home, wearing the same clothes from yesterday. If I was him, I'd probably assume the same thing.
'Actually,' I say, flopping down onto the sofa next to him, elbowing his stomach as I do so, 'she has a girlfriend.'
He raises an eyebrow, and I know he's about to make some type of joke - probably about how I must have had a great night - so I stop him before he can. 'I ended up going to Calliope's before the film even started.'
'I thought she was spending the weekend with that Isaac bloke?'
I shake my head, 'she was supposed to, but he bailed and she wanted some company, so I went over there.'
He's shaking his head at me now. 'And you've been there since?'
'Well we went out shopping today,' I say, gesturing to the shopping bags on the floor, 'and then we went out for some food, but yeah, I've been with her since.'
He smacks my arm. 'What are you playing at, butt?'
'I'm not playing at anything!' I say defensively, but I know exactly where he's coming from because I've been asking myself that same question ever since I saw Isaac sat there, waiting for her on her doorstep.
I'm not doing anything wrong though. We're just friends, and nothing we've done has been inappropriate or disrespectful to Isaac.
'For someone so smart, you're really stupid sometimes,' Josh says, before turning his attention away from me and to the remote in his hands, turning on Netflix.
'How exactly am I stupid?'
He scoffs, 'if you can't figure it out for yourself, then I don't think you're ready to know.'
I roll my eyes, 'you're a real arse sometimes, you know that.'
I stand up from the sofa and head to my room to the sound of Josh shouting, 'you know you love me really!'
The arse is right. I do love him really, he's like a brother, not that I'll tell him that. Especially when he's being an arse.
I sit down at my laptop and check my emails, Jen's already sent me over the lecture notes before I could even ask her for them.
