I looked in the mirror. This is it. I'm getting married. The baby sick washed off nicely. I'm in my dream wedding dress, with the dream guy. I walked out of the room we all got changed in, and saw Jackie with two of my friends and niece as bridesmaids. I decided to invite my mother, but she didn't come anyways. Neither has my dad.
"Oh my gosh, you look beautiful." Jackie smiled as she teared up.
"It looks okay, doesn't it?" I asked.
"It's amazing." My friend reassured me.
"I'm getting married!" I squealed, and the rest of them squealed. I walked to the door, and started panicking. "Jackie, can you grab Martin please?" I turned around to her and saw her confusion. She ran inside, grabbed Martin and came back outside.
"You look lovely, Esme." I'm surprised that Martin hasn't took his shirt off yet.
"Thank you. I wanted to ask a very last minute favour. Can you walk me down the aisle? I'd like you to do it. I would've asked you ages ago, but I kind of forgot. It's been crazy." I tried explaining.
"I will walk you down the aisle, Esme." Jackie was sobbing into her tissue already, and Martin held out his arm. I took it, and we all walked in together.
I walked down the aisle, trying to smile to hide my nerves. Jonny turned around and I saw the biggest smile on his face.
"You look amazing." He whispered.
"Thank you. Not too bad yourself." I whispered back.
"Ladies and gentlemen..."
*** skip forward a bit ***
"I do." I said with a smile."You may now kiss the bride." Jonny gave me a short, but loving kiss whilst everyone clapped. I started to tear up.
"Hey, you okay?" He asked me.
"I'm fine. This is just all so incredible." I looked around and saw everyone. We all walked outside.
"Hey, how come you were walking down the aisle with my dad?" Jonny asked me.
"It felt right. Martin has been more of a father figure to me than my own dad. I owed him that." I explained.
"Awe, my darling." Jackie came up to me and Jonny with Martin and Adam.
"Congratulations, you two." Martin said.
"I finally have a daughter! Well, daughter-in-law, but it doesn't matter." Jackie gave me and Jonny a big hug.
"Mr and Mrs Goodman." Adam said.
"Oh wow, that's going to take some getting used to." I chuckled.
"Hello, all!" Jim interrupted.
"Oh, hi Jim?" Jackie said.
"Jim! You made it!" I said.
"Yes, I did, Esme. Congratulations, Jonny." Jim said.
"Jim, are feeling okay? You just got our names right?" Jonny noticed.
"I may have had something to drink- but it's fine." Jim walked off.
*** cake cutting ***
"Okay, Jonny, no, just grab on to my hand and I'll do the cutting, you do the participation." I smiled as we finally cut the cake.
"That's so good." Jonny said as he ate the cake.
"Thank you." I told him. I had baked the cake. A lot of tears went into it. A lot.
"Can the bride and groom join me on the dance floor for their first dance?" The DJ asked. We walked onto the floor, and Jonny spun me around.
"Jonny, I'm going to throw up the cake if you continue to spin me around." I laughed. I put my arms around his shoulders, and his were resting by my waist. We did some pointless swaying, and giggled as we realised we cannot slow dance.
"Mrs Goodman?" Jonny asked me.
"Yes, Mr Goodman?" I replied.
"Do you know that I love you?" Jonny said. The dance floor started to fill up with some people.
"Yes, and did you know that I feel the same?" I smiled.
"Thank god, otherwise we spent a lot on money on something pointless." Jonny laughed.
"Wilson! Wilson, stop!" Jim started yelling. We looked at Jim, and saw him being pulled by Wilson, who was on his lead. The dog ran around the table, whilst Jim ran straight into the table. Now, this would've been fine, if it was a normal table.
"Not the cake." I muttered as Jim fell into the cake, wrecking it completely.
"Ellie, this cake tastes amazing!" Jim said, as he looked up at us.
"Thanks." I managed to say. I looked at Jonny and started laughing really loud. Everyone was silent. Then, Jonny started laughing, then Jackie, then Adam, then Martin. All us five, laughing our heads off.
"Wow. What a day." I managed to say as I calmed down.
