Skylars p.o.v "Mummy are we nearly at grandpas" i hear my daughter ask as we drive down the forest road "almost baby" I say happily I was Twenty five years old, a singer and a single mother to my gorgeous 8 year old daughter Nakita Lahote
I was currently on my way to La Push Washington to visit my father and little brother mainly because Paul wasn't returning any of my phone calls and I knew what our father was like so I had to come make sure he was okay
I pull up to an old blue house with my brothers truck and my fathers old beaten up truck I sigh putting the car into park and pulling up the hand break I turn my head and Nakita had directed to sleep in the back of the car I sigh getting out of the car getting welcomed by the usual La push cold air not knowing what situation I was walking into I decide to leave my daughter in the car, My father and I hadn't had the best relationship. But mine and my brothers relationship was a whole other story , he was my best friend and Nakitas uncle not to mention my rock
I walk up to the front steps and take a deep breath. Before raising my fist and knocking on the door I put my hands in jacket pocket as I hear the door unlock my jaw drops "Paul" he stares at me in shock as I do the same my not so little brother was shirtless and in shorts , his hair cut shorter , he had grown much taller and he had muscles before I could say any more he hugs me "I missed you" he states making me smile and pull away crossing my arms I look at him "You've been avoiding me I want to know why, and what the hell happened to you you look like a grown man !" He chuckles and looks at the house "not here , come on I got a place we can chat ..... safer environment for niki" I nod and he leads me to my car "I'll drive" he states taking my keys from me and leading me towards the car as I look back at my childhood home In Confusion
"So I've been writing a new album and niki really wants to be on it" I tell Paul as he drives he grins looking to me before looking back at the road what did you tell her" I look back at my sleeping daughter before looking at Paul "actually that's why I'm telling you ... do you remember the song mum used to sing to us as children?" His face softens as he starts driving down a dirt drive. "The one we used to sing with her" he asked clearing his throat as his voice slightly breaks I smile and nod "niki sings that song with me.. I thought it would be special to include mum" He smiles nodding "mum would love that" he puts the car in park "come on let's go"
"You sure you've got her?" I fuss as I watch my baby brother carry my sleeping daughter he smirks " sis I got her she's fine stop worrying" he walks up the front steps to a cute little house surrounded by nature "I'm serious Paul you drop my baby I'm going to hurt you" he laughs loudly "I said I got her sis , she's fine" I sigh looking at the house in front of us it was cute

Paul walks into the house and turned looking at me "you coming?" I frown walking a little faster to keep up with him "who's house is this ?" He walks into a kitchen and down the hall "my friend Sam" he walks into a room with a single bed and places Nikita on it before turning to me "cmon we can talk out here" he motions leading me back out of the room
"Why have you been avoiding me?" I ask and Paul and he sighs scratching the back of his neck "sky.." he sighs. Frown I watch him carefully , he was deciding what to say he went to speak and I cut him off "Paul if you lie to me I'm going to kill you" his mouth snaps shut and he frowns as if he were weighing up his options "I got a new job I haven't been avoiding you it's just..." he trails off And I frown "Paul I've been trying to call you for a month and you haven't returned a single call" he opens his mouth to speak and I notice him look slightly to the left something he always does when he is about to lie to me , I slam my hand on the table we were sitting at "don't lie to me Paul" his mouth snaps shut and he runs a hand through his newly shortened hair "I've been sorting out my anger" he states and I raise an eye brow before I can reply to him someone walks in "hey Paul who's cars outside" I turn and see two guys walking in Both shirtless.
The first one had a bounce in his step and a cheeky grin on his face , I could tell he was Paul's age he was young and cocky but had a face that could probably break any girls heart
And the man trailing behind looked my around my age , he had dark features and beautiful russet skin he was in amazing shape He looked at the ground lost in thought from what I could see he was very attractive
"Jared, Sam this is my sister Skylar, sky these are my friends Jared and Sam" I say a polite hello to Jared as he beams at me excitedly before I look at the man I know now as Sam he looks up to me and we make eye contact and my whole world stops "no fucking way" Paul groans
