Lauren POV

Cherry blossom is such a wonderful view beside the river located in Washington D.C memorial park. The tall monument can be seen feet away from we are currently sitting. Old couples passing by, foreigners taking pictures everywhere and some families are having great time together.

"How many time you've been here?"

I ask him while taking a huge bite of cheese burger.

"A year ago. What about you?"

He ask me back while opening the can of soda. I glance at his side profile gulping the beverage with his Adams apple bobbing up and down.

"Technically this is my first time."

"Really? I'm glad I brought you here then."

"I suppose to have a mini vacation here last month but something came up that I had to cancel out."

"Oh, that's sucks. How you like it so far?"

"I know right. I just don't like it, I love it though. I had no idea how you knew that I like this kind of view."

He chuckled and stares at me. Our eyes met for a couple of seconds before I look away. For some reasons whenever my green eyes met his hazel brown tantalizing one, there is always something that I can't seems to put into words.

"Your fascination over maple tree yesterday gave me idea that you kind of like this kind of view. You're not that hard to read, green eyes"

"Am I?"

"Kind of."

"Then tell me, what am I thinking right now?"

He stares at my face, I didn't bother to meet his eyes. He chuckle shooting me playful smirk.

"You're thinking of murdering me after this and so you can finally go home."

He kind of teased me while looking at the horizon.

"I don't plan to have a birthday party on jail with my mummified looks right now."

I was a bit shocked when he laughed out loud while clutching his stomach. A kind of laugh that you wanted to hear whenever you're feeling blue.

"Stop laughing, it wasn't even funny."

"Your humor never fail to amaze me for some reason. There's no dull moments whenever your mouth talk."

"You're welcome."

I said sarcastically but he just chuckled in return. He stand up while wiping his butt to remove the invisible dust on it.

"Stay right there for a sec."

He ordered as I obeyed like a little kid. I look at him confused but what caught me off guard, a flash of the camera strike. It took me a while to realize that he was taking a photo of me under the cherry blossom.

"I'm sure as hell I look like an Egyptian mummified corpse."

"No, you weren't."

"Be blunt as you are, don't be nice with words just because it's my day. I'll appreciate your bold insults comments."

He snorted while offering me his hands to help me in standing. I gladly took it, not minding the electric current he's sending whenever our skin had a contact.
