Lauren POV

It's been an hours spending time talking to one of my favorite person Kacey. She was mad when I forgot to call her back yesterday and I felt bad about it. I used my charms to make her feel better and I'm glad she's easy to please. We've met couple months ago and the unexpected riot with Scarlet brought us closer than we were. She never forgotten to visit me every last period of her class. She give in to my puppy eyes easily and I pleaded her to come with me to my house.

"You don't have to ask me Lauren, I'll come with you."

"Thanks, you know I'm bad at picking dress for the coming event that I'm not even confident if I should go or not."

She look at me confusedly while crossing her arms on her chest. I'm in the verge of packing my stuffs.

"Picking dress? At your house? Am I hearing that right? I thought we should go to mall and buy you a dress if you're attending event."

"Na-a, I hate shopping besides I have lots of unused dresses in my house."

I sigh overthinking of everything, I was confident a bit but the truth is I'm scared of what's going to happen.

"Stop sighing, you look like helpless kitten. What's the matter?"

And that's how I ended up telling her everything. It started from our baseless yet unclear relationship, then the major issues of his parents, Scarlet, Calvin and to the gala event of their family. Honestly I'm confused of our set-up, I'm playing with fire in which I shouldn't. I don't even know if he feels something more than anything for me or maybe he's just doing his job as an ideal boyfriend. I slap my face and rest my back on the chair. Kacey eyeing me suspiciously with the hint of concern lingering on her eyes.

"You love him."

"Is that supposed to be a question?"

"No, it's a statement."

"No, I don't. Like I told you we had shaky foundation of our baseless relationship and I don't think ..."

"You can lie but your eyes can't."

"I don't know, I don't know."

"Based on what you said, you started your relationship without special string attachment but it turn out that way. Let me ask you, how months that you two dating?"

"Five months, ah-no it's more like six and half months now."

"Shook, you're stupid Lau."

She tilted her head with disapproving look.

"What?"

"Baseless relationship with no strings attached won't lasted even one month. For a pretty dumb head of yours sweety, you two had a mutual feelings. It safe to say that you two share the same feelings with one another."

"I don't think so. He never drop the..."

"The what?"

"The L-word."

I said timidly with a little disappointment while fidgeting my hands. I couldn't care less my cheek is burning hot right now. I didn't expect to hear a loud but a timid laugh from a demure woman in front of me that happened to be my bestfriend.
