As she woke up from the beeping in the alarm clock for the for the second day in a row, it was dreary out, rain  pouring from every square inch of the sky. Just when she had started thinking about how it might turn out to be a good day she remembered the boy. "Babette!" A voice called, it was Jonathan, her assistant. "It's time to start the search up again" She sprang out of bed. That McIsaac boy. He got a lot of trouble going. He is definitely not going to be popular at my orphanage, thought Babette, but then Jonathan pulled her out of my thoughts, again. "Sergeant Scruffy is awaiting your commands". Reluctantly she walked out of the room. Same plan as yesterday, she told Jonathan.

Then she quickly got ready, while Jonathan told Sergeant Scruffy the orders. She was ready just as soon as Jonathan finished explaining.  She got the search dogs and waved a sample in front of their noses. Off they went sprinting to the abandoned house down the road. What could be down there, she thought. The for sale sign was crumpled from age, nearly all the shingles were gone from past storms and the paint nearly washed off completely. The floor boards creaked under their feet as the dogs and she walked into the house. Everything was covered with thick layers of dust.  She looked behind them. The door had swung closed because of the wind causing all the dust to glide around in the air. She coughed and coughed. Then she noticed something. There were footprints behind them ,from when they walked through the dust , but there were smaller footprints as well, leading a trail through the dust. Someone had been in the abandoned house recently.Very recently
