They didnt mean to be a burden, they really didn't! Its not Remus's fault that their entire purpose was to be the dark half of creativity. Why did they always get blamed for that? They couldn't control it. It didnt really matter, Patton would never understand that.

He could accept Virgil just fine, but as soon as it came to Remus they were evil, and there was no making them out to be decent, attempting to accept them, or even just tolerating them. They were a lost cause, with no one ever caring to check up on them. Not even their own brother. Roman hated them the most. Roman was the one to remind them of how evil they were. Roman was the one to cast them out at any and every opportunity.

But then there was Patton.

Patton was almost as bad as Roman.

No. That's a lie.

He was worse.

"Why are they here!? As if Thomas doesnt have enough on his plate than to deal with your shit!" That drew shocked gasps from everyone, even Virgil, who was looking sympathetically at Remus. "Pat.. They didn't even say anyth-" "No! Im sick of them giving Thomas sleepless nights and making him question if he's a good person! Thomas is nothing that they are! We do we even need them!?"

That had everyone frozen in their spots, staring at Patton in pure shock. "What?! If we let them continue popping in so casually what are we gonna do? Accept them like we did with Janus?! Janus is different than Remus! Janus is good for Thomas. Janus has a purpose. Remus doesn't!"

Remus felt tears well up in their eyes, managing to hide it with a cackle and a smirk. "Aww popstar doesnt like me? I thought you were working to be more honest with Thomas, didnt we already learn just how bad repression is~?" The father-figure wrinkled his nose, scoffing. "You will never be apart of Thomas like the rest of us are."

Virgil was the one to speak up again, glaring at Patton. "Patton, you sound like Roman before I was accepted. Why are you still ignoring them? They obviously have some part in Thomas if they're here!"

"No, they dont! They are nothing Thomas is and never will be! Thomas is a good person, they're pointless!"  Logan sighed and rubbed his temple. He was trying his best to stay out of the argument, but this was getting ridiculous. Besides, Remus was shaking, trying to play it off and, very well failing. "Patton, enough."

"But why! They're only stressing Thomas out! They aren't good for him!"  That was it.

Remus broke.

They started crying.

Before any of the others could see, they mumbled a "You're boring" and sank out, only able to pray that no one saw the tears streaming down their face. They popped back up in their room, yelling at Janus to go away when he knocked to make sure they were alright.
