"Dear mother,

It's been a long time since I wrote you a letter. I hope everyone are healthy and doing great back at home.

I am writing this letter to tell you that I am being sent to the front lines to fight the enemy of the humanity. By the time you will be receiving this letter I would be on the battlefront. Just don't worry about me too much and worsen your health. Right now the enemy has been constantly winning against us but the higher ups have a strategy of sure shot win. I don't know about the plan but we are going to win the war and return home triumphantly.

Take care of your health and tell Shinx and Mynx that their older brother misses them. I will surely return home one day.

"What a great letter Lynx my eyes are watery, I can't believe you can write such a letter. That thing in the end about 'returning home' is surely raising a death flag for you" Folly said mockingly.

"Return it to me Folly that is not for you to read, it's for my mother" I said while trying to snatch the letter from his hand.

"This kind of letter will surely make aunt worry more about you idiot, and what's with that sure shot winning strategy. You are not allowed to disclose anything to the public about such decisions. What if the higher ups get to know about this?" Folly said.

"I added those points so that mother can live in peace. And even if they get to know that I leaked something like that, what do you think they can do. They won't court martial me, as such they are shorthanded on manpower for the war" I said while successfully taking back my letter.

"Now let me go and post it" I said while pushing Folly away from the door.

"Your wish brother" Folly said.

In this world there is always competition for superiority. Only the specie which is better adapted or FIT will have the right to increase in number. Centuries ago competition in form of war used to take place frequently between humans and demi human. We as a common race fought alongside each other under the name of humanity with a common goal to gain an upper hand over the demi humans. It took us time but with our superior brain capacity we gained advancement in the field of weaponry. Because of which demi humans were defeated in one sided war and were made to leave the continent. With our enemy gone peaceful time came. But human nature is not an easy thing to understand. With a common enemy gone human started searching for enemy among themselves. This world in which we were born has only known war as method to settle disputes between countries. But 5 years ago when a common enemy resurfaced in the form of aliens, humanity held hands together. When an alien species is introduced, they turn invasive and cause decline or extinction of the indigenous species. In order to counter the Alien Invasion, countries army united and formed UNITED DEFENCE FORCE (UDF). With the suddenness of their attack the aliens had captured more than 45% of the landmass of the continent in mere 2 weeks. But their onslaught was halted with the formation of UDF. Now it was time for a counter attack.

"ALL PERSONAL ARE ORDERED TO ASSEMBLE AT THE HANGAR NO.5 AT 0500 HRS"

After hearing the order I made my way back to the barrack.

" You heard the announcement soldiers, suit up and get ready by 0430 hrs and make your way to the hangar 5, I will be waiting for you there" I commanded the soldiers.

The UDFs current strength is at 2,145,000,000 soldiers which is the largest combined force in the history of mankind. The vast army is divided into various command structure. I am the commander of the alpha company .Under my command there are 580 men. I am the one responsible for their life.

Having gained immense advancement in the field of weaponry the army was supplied with exoskeleton suits which helped in enhancing a soldier's capacity and capability to fight in the war. It provided extra protection too.

The battle plan put forward by the High Command was simple. The artillery regiment would perform a creeping barrage blasting out most of the enemies' front. The airborne division comprising of 40,000,000 soldiers would be dropped behind the enemy lines in order to surprise the enemy and capture important strategic points and bridgehead. The main attack force will be comprising of 1,000,000,000 soldiers marching from the front along with the advanced war machines, linking the city captured by the airborne and moving forward annihilating the enemy.

We assembled at the hangar for a motivational speech by the General. The general was an intimidating personality. The battle scars on his face and hand was the mark that he was one of the survivors of the first war against aliens, which was fought in desperation. "Five years ago with unmatched ferocity the aliens launched its attack against humanity pushing us to the brink. Since they appeared not ONCE has mankind won against them. As we brace for our darkest hour, we must summon our strength to be the bulwark against oppression. The alien onslaught will be the greatest test we will ever face. But with our allies, face it and defeat it, we must at ANY cost. This day we set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our civilization and to set free a suffering humanity. When this plan succeeds it will be the first time we have reconquered land from the Aliens. AND in that moment, for the first time mankind will triumph over the Aliens. My sons, you are the PRIDE of our nation, you must lead straight and true, your roads will be long and hard. Your soul will be shaken with the violence in war. In this hour of our great sacrifice, WE SHALL PREVAIL!!

The speech given by the General had pumped us all, and we all were ready to lay down our lives for the preservation of our race. The General had placed high hopes on us. With sheer amount of strength, technologically advanced weapons and a perfect battle plan, the COUNTER ATTACK was going to be a sure shot SUCCESS.
