The being standing in front of me was a human. Hair similar to my race, skin, head and limbs not resembling even an inch of demi-human character.

"Remove his cloak, let me see his face" she ordered the people surrounding me.

The townsfolk surrounding me held my hand and removed the cloak I had been wearing, exposing my identity.

"How is this possible?"

"Shouldn't they be extinct?"

"These creatures are a stubborn one, no matter what you do they won't die"

"Does he have any companion?"

"We must inform the police."

"His mere presence is making me sick."

"We should beat him first"

"Yes you are right, we can avenge our ancestors."

Before they could take any step, I flashed the amulet given to me by my master. Everyone backed off.

"How come he has a military amulet?"

"How long has he been living among us, making our society impure."

Everyone who were badmouthing me until now started backing off except for the girl, who came closer to me. She held my hand, twisted it in such a manner that my body had to twist along with my hand. She held my hands at my back, kicked me in the leg, making me lose my foothold and soon I was pinned down with her leg upon my back.

"This amulet must have been stolen too, he must be using this amulet to escape from being caught." The girl proclaimed.

"She is right, if he can save our savior's amulet, getting a hold of any other officer's amulet must have been easier too."

"NO!! It's all wrong, my master gave it me to save my life when I am in dangerous situation like this" I pleaded.

"And how do we believe what you are saying is true, we haven't even seen you before in this city" The girl questioned me.

"Don't listen to him, my grandfather told that the beings belonging to his race were evil and cunning, we should not trust him."

"Yeah you are right, beat him"

"Somebody help me!!" I pleaded.

As they were going to beat me a sudden voice made them stop. It was Rupert!

"Please stop, refrain from hitting him, he is the property of Lt Gen Gilbert Spice." Rupert said.

"And who are you" the girl asked Rupert

"I am Lt Gen Gilbert's housekeeper and this man's friend, and it's my responsibility as both to protect him from harm. Therefore I request you not to do anything" Rupert proclaimed.

"How do we believe what you are saying is true, you might be his accomplice too." The girl doubted him.

"Such a stubborn girl" I think to myself

I was preparing to lash out at the girl when Rupert stopped me and calmly answered the girl

"Milady as you work in the military why don't we go to the army HQ situated in the capital. There you will be able to meet our master and verify the truth yourself. There is no gain in creating such a commotion here"

By his way of talking I could figure out that Rupert was actually a mature and a responsible person.

"Fine then, you two will come with me to the HQ" The girl agreed.
