I'm back with another chapter! And I'm sorry, but my chapters are gonna be shorter than they used to be because CLIFFHANGERS!

Umm... so this chapter doesn't really pick up where the last one left off for suspense, but you'll get to know who it was that saved Sophie from the fire.

So... the user of the day is...  @lunatheKOTLCfan !They're an amazing person! They asked people to follow me, and now I have... 80 followers? Wow! Thank you so much,

From now on, I'll be posting questions of the day.

So Question of the Day is:

Who's your favourite kotlc villain(s)?

Mine's Fintan. I feel he isn't that bad.

Well, I don't really have much more to say, so I'll get on with the story.

Love you guys!

Sophie groaned and her eyes fluttered open.

She was lying on a cot in a dark, empty room. There was nothing in the room except for some food, water, a small flask, and a thin blanket.

Sophie got out of bed and instantly regretted it.

Pain shot across her entire body, and she collapsed with a cry of pain.

That was when a cloaked figure entered the room, and she saw the all-too-familiar eye symbol on their sleeve.

Sophie shrieked.

"Neverseen!"

She shot a ball of fire at the figure, but it didn't do any harm. They just caught it and extinguished the flame.

The figure dropped their hood and stared at Sophie. He had messy blond hair, sky blue eyes and very pointy ears.

Fintan.

"I'm trying to help you, Sophie," he said. His face was calm, but she could see the worry behind his eyes.

"Why do you even care? You want me out of the way. Go ahead and let me suffer."

"Well, I don't want you to die! I care, okay?"

"I-- what?"

Fintan sighed and ran a hand through his hair.

"Nothing."

"It obviously isn't nothing!" she snapped.

"You don't have to know everything, Sophie!" His eyes softened. "Please. Just drop it, okay?"

Sophie huffed but didn't argue any further.

Instead, she asked the question that was lingering at the back of her head.

"Why am I here?"

"Where else was I supposed to take you? You were unconscious, you'd just had Limbium, and you were surrounded by Everblaze. I couldn't just leave you there. And Elwin would've taken too long. So I brought you here."

"Oh."

Fintan had saved her. And she knew she shouldn't, but she'd started to trust him. Just a little.

"But... how'd you get the antidote?"

"We have our ways."

Then he smiled and left the room. But before he left, he stopped and looked back at her.

"There's some elixir in the flask. It'll help."

And he walked away.

Why was Fintan being so nice to her?

He was probably just playing mind games to get her to trust him. And the part she hated most was that she did trust him.

So she picked up the flask and drank the elixir.

And it did help.

The pain vanished as if it was never there.

And that just made her trust Fintan even more.

She mentally smacked herself.

He's in the Neverseen, Sophie! Stop trusting him!

But it was of no use.

Oh well.

And that's when she heard a voice.

A voice she never thought she'd hear again.

"Foster?"
