GAME ON

Chapter Eight

He couldn't stop thinking about the beautiful woman sitting across from him as he drove.
When he got to her apartment and had laid his eyes on her, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his entire life.
Immediately he saw her, it felt like the air got knocked out of him and he was tempted to pull her to him and kiss her breathless right there and then but he had to control himself. He was sure she would be the most beautiful woman in the party they are heading to.
When they got to his car, he had the sudden urge to kiss her again but instead told her just a piece of exactly what was on his mind. If only she knew what was exactly on his mind, she wouldn't be sitting so comfortably in the car with him right now. His pants tightened a little as his mind wandered to his earlier dirty thoughts, he shifted uncomfortably in his seat. He knew he shouldn't be thinking about her like this, he knew it was wrong, she was his best friend and nothing more,but he couldn't just help himself.
If Tony was here, he could imagine him mocking his silent suffering.
He pulled up into an available space in the driveway of the mansion. Looking at all the cars parked, one can see that the owners must be very rich and influencial people.
He got out, jogged over to her side of the car and opened the door for her to step down while holding her hand gently.
"Thank you" she muttered
She linked her arm through his and they walked in.
He noticed her expression which was full of surprise as she looked around, taking in her surrounding. The place was quite impressive he must admit, but he couldn't even count how many fancy places he has been to, so didn't seem too surprised.
A Butler led them to where the party was taking place. Travis Landon, the heir to Landon Enterprise, and at the age of twenty eight has really accomplished a lot, and has improved the business to be one of the best in the world and Ray knew that together, they would make a great team in the business world and besides they've know each other since college and had been friends so it wouldn't be a problem, he hoped.
Ray isn't the typical stoic faced business man with the I-don't-care-if-anybody-partners-with-me-or-not-because-i-built-my-business-myself-without-anyone's-help attitude. He likes to be friendly with anyone including his employees even- well as friendly as he can get-, but he doesn't tolerate laziness or incompetence. When he want to be strict, oh he can be, with a snap of his finger, you're fired.
Travis already told him that his friend was hosting a ball for his mother which was organized almost every year and so was an opportunity for them to meet and make it their own private business dinner.

Shiller was lost in the beauty of the place, the decorations were very attractive, a very tall and good looking Butler led them to the table that has been reserved for them already.
She wasn't one to go to or like fancy places but this was just too beautiful, she must admit. They took their seats and she looked around, she watched a couple on the dance floor holding each other and looking so cute together. She wished that was she and someone right now. She stole a quick glance at him, he was just too good looking for his own good, oh Ray, you're the one looking ravishing right now, she thought. As if he sensed that someone was watching him and looked in her direction, knowing she had been caught staring, she blushed and quickly averted her gaze, looking at the tablecloth like it was the most interesting thing in the world.
He leaned closer to her and whispered in her ear "like what you see?" He smirked when she flushed, of course, silly, she thought but instead scoffed and replied,
"I've seen better"
It was her turn to smirk when she saw his shocked expression.
"You wish"
She was about to respond when they were interrupted by a deep voice
"Ray, my man, how are you doing?" A tall dark haired man of about six foot four said, slapping Ray on the back so loud she winced internally. That must have hurt, she thought.
"Hey, Travis, I'm good. You?"
"Same here buddy" then he noticed her and introduced himself
"And who is this beauty here? I'm Travis" he said bringing his hand forward for a handshake.
She blushed and said "I'm Shiller" taking his hand
"What a beautiful name for a beautiful woman like you" he tried to sound seductive but instead sounded like he had a sore throat, the thought almost made her laugh out loud.
"Thank you"
Someone cleared their throat and she turned to see Ray looking at them with an angry look on his face. Is that jealousy I see? She giggled inwardly and had a pleased expression written on her face
"Um, Travis, I hope you know we're here for something very important" he asked, raising an eyebrow. Travis cleared his throat and said
"Y-yeah, of course"
That's when she noticed the brunette with little covering on her body, hanging off his arm and he introduced her to be Clara, his date and a good friend of his.
She noticed that Clara kept shooting daggers her way throughout the dinner and smiling seductively at Ray.
They talked about different things and she noticed that Ray didn't even pay attention to the brunette who was trying to seduce him and instead focused his attention on her which made Clara to seem very annoyed and she stood up excusing herself after her failed attempt. That's right bitch, he's mine, so fuck off,she smirked inwardly.
When they were finished with eating, it was time to dance, Ray asked her to dance with him and she gladly accepted.
She wasn't too surprised to know he was a very good dancer, he had a lot of talents and dancing was one of them. She could see a lot of women looking at her with jealousy while others, with longing, but who wouldn't be jealous when she had the most handsome man in the building all to herself. They continued to enjoy themselves at the party and when it was over, he dropped her home with a quick kiss on the head and drove off, leaving her looking as red as a tomato.
