Chapter Twelve

"Hey Berry"
"Yeah what's up?"
"Where are you?"
"Home, why?"
"Are you busy?"
"Nope" she answered, popping the 'p'
"Good. I need you to come to Jonah's now?"
"My work place?"
"No of course not, it's your principal's office" Shiller answered sacarstically and rolled her eyes
"Hah!, Like I ever want to see Mr grouchy pants" she laughed and Shiller joined "why are you even calling me?" Berry asked more seriously now
"Can't I call my best friend cuz I miss her?" Shiller pouted
"Yeah...no, I don't believe you. Now, tell me what you really want"
"Just come over okay? I'll fill you in. It's very important" she replied, emphasizing on the 'very'
"Ok. See you in twenty"
"Cool, thanks"
Then she called the next person
"Hey Shiller, what's up?" Tony's voice boomed
"Hey Tony, I'm good. You?"
"Same here Shil. So what's up?"
"I kinda need your help?"
"Kinda?" He asked with amusement
"Oh shut up you" he chuckled
"Are you busy?"
"No"
"Good. I need you at Jonah's right now?"
"Why?"
"Just come over. I'll tell you then"
"Ok, see you there"

Twenty minutes later...
As she was busy with her phone, the bell on the door of the diner dinged and she looked up. Tony and Berlina walked in together, chatting and laughing. Shiller smirked, oh you've got a lot of explaining to do young lady, she thought.
"What's up girlfriend?" Berlina shouted, as she and Tony each took a sit opposite her
"Hey guys. What took you so long Berry?" She scowled at her best friend
"Hey don't blame! I had to put in a lot of effort to look good before coming here. With the way you called, I thought maybe you hooked me up with some hot shot model and I had to look my best" she shrugged
"Berry, I didn't hook you up with anyone and you would still look great even if you came in your PJs and bird nest hair" she said innocently. Tony snickered loudly which earned him a glare from Berry and he immediately sobered up, raising his hands in surrender
"Couldn't help it though" he smiled "you'll look cute"
Berry blushed and looked away making Shiller raise an eyebrow in question. When Berry glanced at her, she gave Berry a we'll-talk-about-this-later look.
"Ok, not wasting anymore time, I called you here because of Ray's birthday that's coming up next tomorrow. I want us to plan a surprise birthday party for him"
"Oh, I love surprises" Berry clapped, "so what are we planning?"
"Ok, the party is going to take place at his house. I'll try and take him away from his house for a while in the evening so you guys can start preparing it for the party" they both nodded in agreement
"So, you guys should call whomever you trust to help with the decorations and all. Berry you and I are going to bake the cakes"
"Cakes? As in more than one?" Her eyes shining
"Yes"
"Wow" she said dreamily
"You know you two have to bake the cakes as early as possible since it's going to be two" Tony spoke up
"Yes, I know that. I hope you guys have your gifts ready?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. The two of them looked at each other and rubbed the back of their necks simultaneously. Shiller gasped
"You've got nothing!!, How could you? Especially you Tony, you're his best friend. He's gonna kill you if he ever finds out"
"Look at the bright side, it's not too late, right?"
"Yeah, you're right"
"Shil, have you gotten yours ready?" Berry asked
Shiller looked at both of them and immediately, they all started laughing, from the look on her face, they both knew that she didn't have hers ready yet.
"Why you little snook... You almost made us feel guilty" Berry accused
"Almost?" Shiller smirked
"Fine! Ugh! You did" Berry rolled her eyes
"Okay, while you two are busy baking the cakes, what am I supposed to do?" Tony asked
"Remember I talked about taking Ray out to distract him?"
"Yeah?"
"Scratch that, you'll be the one taking him out"
"Aw come on, where am I supposed to tell him we're going?"
"I don't know. Make something up, he's your best friend,he should be able to believe whatever you tell him" Shiller said in a 'duh' tone. He scoffed
"Ray hardly believes me. He almost always thinks I'm up to no good" he rolled his eyes
"You're actually always up to no good, no offense" he scowled and Berry giggled
"I'll bring the drinks from my bar" Tony offered
"Good idea T-boy, no need wasting money"
"T-boy? Seriously?" Berry asked and laughed
"I've told you to stop calling me that" he whined
"But it suits you" Shiller pouted and he rolled his eyes
"Okay, I think that should be all" Shiller announced and they all stood up and went out.
They both hugged Shiller goodbye, promising to keep one another updated of every arrangements for the party. Tony offered to drive Berry home, she accepted and climbed into his car . Shiller also got into hers but not before throwing a suggestive wink in Berry's direction and whispering "use protection" in her ear.
Berry blushed and rolled her eyes, shooing Shiller away. Then they all drove off to their different destinations.

Shiller decided to drive to a store before heading home. She already has a gift in mind and wanted to find the perfect type.
She parked her car and walked into the store. She started strolling, section after section before her eyes landed on something beautiful. She went closer and inspected it carefully, her original thought out gift forgotten.
She then decided that this new one is the perfect one for him. Yes, this is it.
