Chapter Fifteen

Shiller woke up the next morning with a pounding headache. Groaning,she looked around for a drug to help her with the heachache, she found some in her purse which was beside her on the bed and swallowed it with water in a bottle.
She then looked around and realized that she was not in her room. She then thought maybe it was one of the spare bedrooms in Ray's house. Ray. She remembered all that happened the previous night. The surprise party, she giving Ray her gift to him personally and then... Their kiss. She couldn't believe it, she actually kissed her best friend. If not for the fact that she couldn't forget the regret she saw in his eyes, she would have been dancing round the whole room by now.
If she was asked, she didn't regret the kiss one bit. She was actually wishing it lasted longer. Suddenly, her stomach growled loudly and she went to ease herself first, then decided to go get something to eat. Her hand froze on the door knob. She was dreading coming face to face with him. What if he was there? Alone. What if he wants to talk about last night? What would he say? Would he even acknowledge that it ever happened? Or worse, what of he doesn't talk to her ever again? What then did that mean for their friendship? Are they still going to be able to go back to how they were? Be normal best friends again?
Ugh! stop being a drama queen Shil. You're overthinking this. She chided herself. There was only one answer that she had... Nothing was really going to be normal for them again, the best thing to do is to act like last night's kiss never happened. With that thought in mind, she exited the room.

Walking into the kitchen hoping that she wouldn't run into anyone because she didn't even know how she looked like right then. She looked around in amazement, this is really a fucking mansion and he calls this a small house. Idiot. She saw him sitting at the corner, typing away on his phone. When he heard her footsteps, he raised his head to look at her and his eyes widened a bit. His eyes raked over her form for a moment. The way her nightdress reached just above her knee, showing of her long, toned legs and the way her hair was tousled, sticking out in different angles, showing that she just rolled out of bed, one word instantly came to his mind. Sexy. He saw her lips move but couldn't hear a word. Those lips. He remembered how they felt against his last night, how they tasted. He started getting hard as he imagined her wrapping those smooth legs around his waist and kissing her senselessly. He didn't regret kissing her last night but... He just didn't trust himself. He...
"Earth to Ray" Shiller snapped her fingers in his face. He immediately looked up and caught her smirking. "Maybe you should take a picture, it'll last longer"  she teased and he reddened slightly.
I made Ray blush, oh my. Five points for Shiller baby, She thought, grinning inwardly
He adjusted his hard on subtly and asked "I'm sorry what were you saying?"
"I said good morning"
"Oh, good morning. How was your night?"
"It was ok. What about yours?"
"Good"
She started looking around for pans and ingredients for making pancakes.
"Pancakes?" She asked
"Yes please"
She noticed he hadn't said anything about last night and her heart dropped a bit.
"Shiller... About last night..." He started as if on cue but she quickly cut him off. He hardly used her real name unless he was serious about something.
"Look Ray, I know what you want to say. It's a mistake, it never should have happened, blah, blah, blah. Look I...I also feel the same way" lies, lies, lies
"No Shiller..."
"It's fine really... Just...just forget about it okay?" Lies, more lies. It's really not okay and she was not forgetting it, ever. She just stopped him in time so she wouldn't hear him say anything that would break her heart even further.
"Just listen to me Shiller. I rea..."
Just then footsteps were heard coming thereby putting a stop to whatever he was about to say. He cursed inwardly.
"Good morning" Berry chirped as she came down and they replied. She looked between Shiller and Ray and noticed the tension between them. When her eyes met Shiller's, she gave her the you-need-to-explain-what-the-fuck-is-going-on look and Shiller also gave her the same look when she noticed Berry was in Tony's shirt making Berry blush.
"Hey guys, what's for breakfast?" Tony said
"Pancakes" Shiller replied
When she finished making it, they all sat down to eat and chatted  after breakfast, before they went back to their respective houses, Ray thanked them for the surprise birthday party and they all left promising to meet and hang out some other time.

Hey guys, sorry for late update, I just got my battery changed. This is just a filler chapter, sorry it's short. What does this now mean for Ray and Shiller's friendship? Will they be able to go back to how they were?
I think we all know the answer to the second question but for the first? We'll see 😉.
