GAME ON

Chapter Thirteen

The days flew by fast and before they knew it, the day of Ray's birthday arrived. Shiller woke up early and took her bath. After eating breakfast, she did all her morning routines and when she was done, it was seven thirty.
She then called Berry who told her that she was on her way and at exactly eight o'clock, she arrived. The boys had also woken up early since they had offered to help with the cakes. They all drove to Ray's home immediately. They all picked up aprons and set to work. They made fun of the boys who wore matching pink aprons with flowery designs.
"You boys are sure gonna make such fine bakers someday" Berry snickered at that statement. The boys shot daggers at them with their eyes. Shiller and Berry had gone for catering classes in their highschool days and were pretty fast bakers so they didn't have to worry about not being able to finish on time. The girls handled the mixing of ingredients in the bowl while the boys poured the ingredients. They argued back and forth about sugar.
"It really needs more sugar" Mike spoke up
"No it doesn't, Ray loves cake but he doesn't really have a sweet tooth like you two" Shiller argued, then minutes later, the boys gave up.
Tony had called to inform them that he had taken Ray out for the day-after much persuasion though, then Shiller called the event planner she hired who happened to be an old college friend of hers, Gina Malore. She had always aspired to be an event planner and had been quite successful.
They put the first one into the oven and started preparing the other one. When the first cake was done, they left the boys to design the cake. The second cake was then placed into the oven and when that was also done, the girls designed it.
Then they all stood back to admire their artworks. The first cake was an almond chocolate cake with strawberry toppings while the other cake was a black forest cake with strawberry designs. They all nodded in approval and high-fived one another.
"Great work guys" Shiller praised
Then Berry bade them goodbye and Shiller and the boys all drove back home to freshen up. Shiller went into her room to clean herself up and came back down to the sitting room to watch some TV before dozing off almost immediately.

She woke up and saw that it was already a bit dark outside, she checked the time, it was already six thirty in the evening. She walked upstairs so as to go and dress up for the party but before entering her room, she shouted, "you guys, wake up it's almost time, we don't wanna be late so hurry" they replied her with groans and muffled 'okays'.
She took a hot shower and came out wrapped in her fluffy pink towel. She walked into her closet and picked out her dress.
She wore a pink high-low gown with short sleeves and paired it with white heels. She brushed her long hair and made the ends curl more. She did minimal make-up, preferring to go somewhat natural.
She checked herself one last time in the mirror and when she was satisfied with her reflection, opened her door and stepped out.
She met her brothers already seated in the sitting room, waiting for her. "Okay, I'm ready" she announced and then looked around "where are the cakes?"
"We ate them, God Shiller, those cakes were amazing. We need to make more" Mike said with a serious expression on his face and she was filled with rage instantly
"What?!" She shouted
"Calm down sis, you should know your idiot brother by now" Mitch said and punched his twin on his arm.
"Don't make such jokes again Mike" she glared at him "let's go"
They gathered all they needed and put them in the trunk of the car.
She got into the driver's seat of the car and the boys sat at the back, then she drove off.
They arrived at Ray's house, his place was a freaking mansion with a penthouse and it managed to surprise her everytime she went there.
She pressed the door bell and Berry answered it. They hugged each other excitedly and the boys moved past them to set the cakes.
"Glad you finally made it" Berry said
"Yeah, after my idiot brother tried to give me a heart attack"
"Oh my, what happened? Was it Mike?"
"Of course it is, he claimed that they both ate the cakes, I was so enraged, I felt like kicking the shit outta him" Berry chuckled
Shiller looked around and noticed the decoration of the place "Gina sure did a good job here"
"Yes, she's good. I'll give her a call sometime"
Shiller noticed a lot of people had gathered there and most of them were unfamiliar.
"Everyone quick! Tony said he and Ray are gonna be here in the next five minutes. Someone should switch off the lights" and the whole place went dark.
Some people were whispering and laughing but someone shushed them up.
Footsteps were heard approaching and they could hear Tony and Ray's voices arguing about something relating to football. Boys, she thought and shook her head while smiling.
Then the door suddenly opened and the lights were switched back on and everyone yelled "Happy Birthday Ray" and Tony also shouted beside him.
He looked shocked and pale, not knowing what to say, he fainted.

***Seriously Ray? Fainting? 😂😂. Okayyyy, what do you guys think about this chapter. Sorry it's short, the next one will be longer. Do you guys think Ray would like the surprise?
