Sky POV

I watched Gabby walk away then I turned to Shawn's direction and he was busy taking out groceries from the car. I walked towards him with my hands in my pockets.

"Need any help?" I asked smiling weakly.

He just looked at me and nodded. We took the groceries out and into the kitchen.

"Are we done?" I asked as I put some bags on the kitchen counter tops.

"So are you gonna act like I didn't just see you making out with another girl?" He said as he poured me a glass of water and he did the same to himself.

"Ummm-"

"I ain't judging. I just have a few questions if you don't mind," he said then he took a sip.

Right now I gotta brace myself for anything because shits bout to go down.

"Go ahead," I said lowly.

He cleared his throat as he made himself comfortable on his chair.

"Are you a...ummm lesbian, a bisexual or a pansexual? If you don't mind me asking."

"Lesbian," I said looking at my glass in attempt to avoid eye contact. "Are you gonna tell mom?"

He shook his head no. "Coming out is a big thing. I have no right to tell her even if she's my wife. Its all up to you Sky. Do it when you're ready, just know that I'll always be there for you," he said smiling.

This really means a lot to me. I'm scared as fuck to come out but Shawn's positive output might just give me enough courage to come out.

"Thanks dad," I said as I smiled.

Wait. Did I just-... Dang it! Me and my big mouth. I meant to say all of that in my head.

"Any time Sky," he said getting up and I went over and hugged his torso and I felt him hug me back.

I broke the hug and looked at him. "Is it weird that I called you my dad?" I asked.

"If you make it weird then it'll be but you can call me whatever you're comfortable in."

"I will...dad," I said smiling. "I love you dad."

Shawn kissed my cheek. "I love you more my beautiful daughter," he said. "If you'll excuse me, I gotta go back to your mother and massage her feet because your baby brother has been giving her a hard time."

He then walked out.

"You calling Shawn 'dad' now?" Sam asked as she got in the kitchen. "Our real dad ain't gonna be happy to hear this."

I sucked my teeth. "To hell with that man," I said.

Sam came closer to me with her arms crossed. "Excuse you? Shawn is not our father."

I stood up and went closer to her. "Shawn may be not our real father but he sure does act like a true father compared to Omari," I said.

She rolled her eyes. "I ain't got time for this," she said now walking away.

"You are so pathetic. Whenever you know I'm right you walk away. You are such a coward," I said and she stopped. She turned and walked towards me.

"You're the one who's pathetic," she snarled.

I chuckled bitterly. "Really? You are so pathetic, you can't even come up with a good comeback," I said. "Look, whether you like it or not Shawn is way better. He's been there for us through thick and thin. He always puts us and our happiness first."
