Aloshi Aguadilla

They say being the carefree and rebellious type of student is a waste of time, nothing better will come their way. Iniisip lang raw nila kung paano nila sasayangin ang kanilang oras sa mga walang kwenta, they're not thinking of what will be the consequences of their actions and they're not accountable with any of it.

Well, they are wrong. It's just, we don't care about it as much as adults do.

What's wrong with taking a break from school worries?

Life is too short to ponder about anything, including the rules adults keep droning on about. They believed they sounded powerful when they babbled about what we should and should not do. They think it's clever to provide us a list of the consequences. The truth is that they don't sound powerful. They appear desperate.

They paint us as the person they failed to be when they were younger, or is this a trauma response? In any case, I don't like it. They want life to be as smooth as cotton candy when they bite into it. And that is the problem there.

Instead of stressing out, students like me- yup, the delinquent ones- prefer to savor the moment, even the punishment given to us.

It's all worth it. You see, it is the cleverest thing that the school has done to someone like me. I'll be suspended for a week or two, depende sa kasalanan ko. And if that happens, I could watch any of my favorite movie and lie down my bed the whole day. It's like I've given a free trip or vacation for doing something I really enjoy.

So, adults zero and the delinquent get the points.

I crumpled up the pages of my notebook in burst of impatient.

And I hate science, anyways. There's no reason to stay here.

Tumayo ako sa kinauupuan ko. As expected, agad akong napansin ng guro. "Where are you going, Aguadilla?" mataray na tanong nito. Her long, thin hair flipped on the side of her shoulder as wind passes through the window to her. She's shorter than me with rosy cheeks and pinkish lips.

Everyone in the campus admires her for her beauty, but despises her for the way she teaches us. Because rather than learning from her lesson, we learn from her every day insult. She's a new professor but that's no excuse for her behavior.
