I shut my eyes and ignored that sound in my ear. Bagama't nang imulat muli ang mata at natanaw ko pa rin ang mukha ni Vex, the words resurfaced in my head.
He doesn't look well. He's sporting the same expression I noticed a while ago after a phone call; he's agitated and furious.
"Ija, sumama ka sa amin sa presinto. We need your statement." One of the policemen approach me. He has a different accent that made every word he uttered seem charged with import and authority. "H'wag kang matakot. May kaunti lang kaming katanungan at kailangan namin ng kooperasyon mo."
I nodded as I couldn't find my voice.
"I don't know what to react," Vex said in a calm way. He scanned me from head to toe. His eyes widen slightly, surprised to see blood all over me.
