[CHAPTER FOUR]

"Well, we'll get to the part of me proving it to you, cause from what I've learned from you and can already see, you'll never agree to that before seeing it with your own eyes.. but before that, I'm gonna need you to listen carefully to what I'm going to say to you.." he said, looking at me expectantly.

"I can try." I replied while smiling widely at him like he's an idiot.

"We, werewolves, except for the obvious and all of that which i will tell you about later, like shifting into wolves, have something special, or i better say someone special, made only for us, someone that completes us, whom we will love almost immediately at the first sight. someone that we would never hurt and try to protect at all times, and that, my dear, is our mate. And.. well.. you are one.. i mean.. you are my mate.. so please keep in mind that i love you and i will never ever hurt you..no matter what form I'm in.. human.. or wolf.." he explained with sincerity.

"Okaaaaay!!" i said, feeling awkward now that he has said all of those nonsense almost as if they were soooo true.

"Ugh.. you're so stubborn, little one.. i think its time for me to show you.."he said taking a couple of steps away from me. "but be aware that i am in control and i will never hurt you. okay?" He asks while raising an eyebrow at me.

Ugh, maaaaan, please stop it before embarrassing yourself infront of me, well, more than you already have!!
I think he hear it but didn't respond to it. Then he moved his hands towards the edge of his shirt, taking it off in a second. And after a blink of an eye i saw him working on his belt,

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING??" I said, very well aware of the man standing in front of me, half naked in all of his glory!

"I don't think you'd appreciate me being naked after i shift back into my human and making the longer conversation that is about to come afterwards. Don't worry, I'll keep my boxers on so that you won't get any more wet than you already are." he said while winking at me at the end.

There is no waaaay that i might be actually wet by just looking at him!! I tought to myself. Turned on? yes, definitely, but wet? Dont think so.

"Look at me carefully." He demanded and after a second, he started shaking a little.

Yeah, that's what you get when you get butt naked in this weather buddy!
I said in my mind.

All of a sudden he crouched down and in a split of a second, there was a 5'8" or so, wolf standing right where he was.
My eyes were so close to popping out of my head.. i had no idea how this happened and what im supposed to do.. run.. yeah thats what! But my feet are glued to the ground..

The wolf standing infront of me was pitch black with those amazing blue eyes of Nate, that were staring right at me. I had no idea what it wanted me to do nor what it was going to do..
I was so close to running for my life, my heart beating nonstop, my eyes wide open, and nonetheless, my body alert of what was about to come.

- Don't be afraid. Like i said, i will never ever hurt you before hurting myself first. -
I heard Nate's voice in my head.
The wolfs eyes were focused on mine and somehow looking like it's waiting for me to respond to Nate, which i was too occupied to do so.

After what seemed like an eternity for me, the wolf in front of me moved, trying to step closer to me in a slow pace.

"Nate?" I call out for him.

- Oh finally.. yes, love? -
Being relieved was so obvious in his voice. And while he was talking, the wolf infront of me stopped moving which made me exhale half of the tension out.

"This is not funny Nate.. please stop it.. im scared.. I'll just forget all the nonsense you said earlier.. just.. just please come back and take this creature away from me.." i desperately said, while tears were floating out of my eyes. I was so overwhelmed right now that i wasn't even crying or laughing but still, i had tears running down my eyes rapidly.

- You're in denial i guess.. but if that's what you want, i will shift back.
Just keep your eyes on me and watch the process, please. I'll try to make it slower this time. -

I just nodded, not knowing what to do exactly. And then, the wolf started shrinking and its gorgeous black fur started vanishing. After its shift was over, Nate was standing in front of me, naked like a newborn.
He didn't seem to care about his lack of clothes and started walking toward me. In almost an instant, he was there, right in front of me with my face in between his hands and his thumbs taking away the tears on my cheeks.
The sparks that made their way through my skin, right where he was touching, made me inhale deeply and i was surrounded by his scent, dancing around my nostrils and calming me down.

"I'm back here, baby. Don't be scared. I wish there was another way to confront you with this. I'm sorry to scare you. I really am. Please forgive me." He said those words so fast that it was almost too hard for me to comprehend what they were and what they meant, and he kept looking deep into my wet eyes.
"Please.. say something." He pleaded.

I reached my hands up, placing my palms on his hands, gripped to them so hard. "You.. you.." it was impossible for me to find the words to say, i mean, there was no logic in what I've witnessed. And also right now, It was hard for me to focus even more, because of those damn sparks growing stronger and traveling all over my body and almost making me grasp for air. So i put his hands down, not once daring to leave the stare contest that we were having. That caring in his eyes changed immediately and was replaced with something screaming hurt, sadness, and rejection. And right there, in that moment, i had no idea what got into me, but i decided to go on with it and as a result i let go of his hands and hugged him with all the strength that was left in me.
I didn't know what that was supposed to mean and i also didn't care. I just stood there on my tiptoes, putting my face in the crook of his neck and inhaling deeply, while my hands gripped to his neck and shoulders so tight that i never knew i could possibly hug someone with this strength. It was like im on the edge of a building and am about to fall, while the only thing that is keeping me up there is him.
