chap. 1 - friday night lights

finley's pov:
me, amber, indigo, eden and beatrix are in my bedroom getting ready for the football game, i've haven't missed one of jaden's games ever since he started playing. me and jaden have been best friends ever since diapers. when me and jaden were younger we were raised as siblings since my parents were always out of town and they basically still are. usually me and jaden spend the night at each other's houses, we mostly stay at jaden's house. me and the girls are doing the basic face paint with our school colors. the girls are putting on their boyfriends jerseys and since i haven't had a boyfriend ever and me and jaden have been so close. he gave me the hoodie with his name on it so i'm always supporting him and he does the same for me during my softball games. at least he has me supporting him all the time, i can't say the same for lily his fucking girlfriend. i really think she's going to break his heart, "hey fin" amber says while waving her hand in front of my face "yea what's up?" i say while snapping back to reality "we're ready to go" amber says and i nod while grabbing my purse and my phone. we climb into my jeep and i start driving and indigo connects her phone to the aux and starts to play some country music. "why country music" amber whines "because it's in our roots" beatrix says in a fake country accent "your so fucking stupid" i say and we all laugh "hey no bad language, i'm going to wash your christian mouth out with soap" beatrix says and we all start dying laughing "yeah okay mom" indigo says and we all just start vining while the music plays. "finally, why is your house like twenty miles away" amber says and i fake laugh while i flip her off "because my parents thought living in a gated community near the mountains would be fun and then never actually live there" i say "and at least you don't have to drive it everyday to get to school" i say and then someone covers my eyes "guess who it is" indigo says to trying to make me think it's not jaden "well indigo you just said that but it's actually jaden" i say while taking his hands off "hey bubba" i say while hugging him. "why don't they date" i hear eden whisper "they're so cute, they should just date honestly" someone says and i get out of jaden's chest to see its lily and she starts storming off "follow her" i whisper to him and he starts to move than stops "are you okay?" he asks and i nod and he starts to run after her "why did you do that?" eden asks me "idk, i want him to be happy" i say nervously "i've seen the way he looks at you stupid, he likes you a lot" amber says while rubbing my back "more than that stupid bitch" indigo says and we all laugh "he would be happier with you" beatrix says and i nod "how do you feel when your with jaden?" eden asks "i just want to kiss him, cuddle with him, wear his football jersey, be his fucking girlfriend" i said a little to loud so i quickly covered my mouth "i think we gave her a truth serum" indigo says and it makes us all laugh "how much do you like lily?" amber asks and i burst out laughing "on a scale of zero to negative a hundred i would say maybe a negative ninety nine point nine nine" i say and they all laugh "who's the ugliest in our friend group" beatrix says and we all turn our heads in her direction "me bitch, and that's why jaden hossler would never date me" i say while bowing and doing a little wave "hello i'm finley paige simon and jaden hossler would never date me" i say and the girls awkwardly stand their pointing behind me and it's just the football boys besides jaden "finley your blind if you don't think jaden would drop lily in a heartbeat if you said you wanted to date him" brooks said "no i'm so fucking ugly and never do that again" i say while flipping the girls off "then why does he not let lily have his hoodies or his jersey and why do you think lily is so jealous of you" james said "lily couldn't be jealous of me, like she is so pretty i— thanks guys but don't tell jaden.. i don't want to ruin their relationship" i say and the boys laugh "eden probably already did" brooks says while walking off, james hits him and eden flips him off "i didn't know baby had it in her" indigo says to eden and we all laugh besides eden.

i guess it's time for some background info on the squad it's me, amber, eden, indigo, and beatrix along with the boys beckett, james, brooks, jaden, and dom. indigo and brooks have been dating since eighth grade since it's junior year basically it's been four years. james and eden have been a thing for about three months but their cute. beatrix and beckett are talking which is absolutely disgusting, have no idea what she's see in my brother but i'm happy for her. actually amber is dating parker he goes to a public school somewhere near nashville so they don't really see each other but they make each other really happy, i've met parker before actually i introduced them. and for dom we've always been like flirty but i don't have a crush on him, i can't really say the same for him.

"let's take some pictures bitches!" indigo says to us while dragging us over to the fence to take some pictures. "i will in a little bit, gotta find jaden" i say while running towards the field and calling brooks over to me "finley, do you know where jaden is?" he asks "no, i was just about to ask you the same thing, he needs to play scouts are here for him" i say while pointing at the scouts on the bench "do you see lily" he asks and i scab the crowd "nope, do you?" i ask "no, i'll tell coach we're going to try and find him." he says "make him stall as long as he can" i say and he nods and we both walk over to coach danielson "coach, i don't know where jaden is" brooks says and coach's eyes go wide "me and brooks are going to look for him, hold the game as long as you can" i say and coach starts to nod "actually why not dom go" coach asks and points at dom who's sitting on the bench "me and brooks know jaden the best, we have been friends forever" i say and he nods and me and brooks go in the direction where i saw jaden run to. i brought my phone to check the 'find my friends' app and we followed it since jaden had his phone when we were hugging. we get really close and it leads us to a porta potty...
