chap. 9 - accepted?

finley's pov: (time skip 2 months - december)
i just got out of school for the year, and me and jaden are heading over to my house to just chill and watch christmas movies. we're driving home and in the driveway, i see my dad's car and that means he's finally back from his work trip and he's at least going to be for christmas so we act like a normal family for once. we walk in trying not to slip on the icy driveway and we get into the house and take off our coats and we go into the kitchen to grab some cookies the bailey made earlier this week with tatum and i see some mail on the counter with my name on before seeing who it's from i rip it open, and it's a acceptance letter from vanderbilt my dream school but what made me sad is that jaden didn't want to go to college, he wanted to achieve his dreams and i would never hold him back from that so i hid it in my pants pocket before he walks into the kitchen. "hey bubba" i say while giving him a kiss "hi bubba" he says back "i can't wait to give you your gift" he says excitedly "why can't you just give it to me now bubba" i say with puppy dog eyes "cover your eyes" he says jokingly and i let out a little chuckle. "your staying over tonight right?" i ask and he nods while grabbing a cookie "i'm gonna go get changed, put on a christmas movie" i say while walking up to my room "what's that" jaden says as he reaches into my back pocket "it's just something from my mom" i say while grabbing it before he can "on paper?" he says confused and i quickly nod before running upstairs and i try to quickly find some where to hide it and i see a great hidden spot in my shelf and i quickly put it on their as i get dressed into some fluffy pajama pants and one of jaden's t-shirt with some fluffy christmas socks and i grab my wrapping paper and presents for family and bring them downstairs with me. no one else is home, as i stumble down the stairs struggling to hold all the gifts and i drop them all over the floor and i accidentally grabbed jaden's gift along with the other ones and i quickly hide it before he comes over and helps me pick them up. we get them all together and i sit on the floor as i start wrapping the gifts. while i'm in the middle of wrapping the gifts, my father's study door swings open and out walks my father and mother and i completely forgot about his car in the driveway and mom must have parked in the garage and i quickly shuffle to hide their gifts. "mom what are you doing here... i just got your letter and you said you were staying in paris" i say while winking "i didn't send you no letter finley, what are you talking about" she says and i slap my head "oh my lord" i say "why are you here?" i say in a angry tone "you do not get to talk to me like that finley, i'm your mother" she says and i laugh "not any more" i say as i flip her off and walk upstairs "amy can adopt me" i yell as i walk upstairs and jaden follows me. "finley wjat was the left that you had?" jaden asks and i go to my bookshelf and grab the letter "acceptance letter from vanderbilt" i say excitedly "oh" he says sadly "jaden i know you want to get out of here" i say as i lift up his head "you can pursue your dreams and we can still see each other all the time" i say as i give him a kiss and he slightly smiles at the corner of his mouth. "i love you" he says and i look at him since it's the first time we have said that as a couple, "i love you too jaden hossler" i say. we film a tiktok before we head back downstairs and as we walk out of my room, we hear screaming and it's obviously my mother so i rush downstairs to see what she could be screaming about. "really amy, does she have no idea about what i've done for her... she's really a spoiled brat" she says and i turned away shocked and before she could say anything as she heard we start to run back upstairs "don't even start jen" i say and i see my father and he turns back to me and he looks very angry. "get the hell out of my house jennifer" he yells and my mother quickly grabs her things and scurries out of the house and i laugh and give my dad a huge hug. "love you pumpkin" he says "love you too dad" i say and he goes back into his study and jaden comes down the stairs "are you okay?" he asks and i slowly nod, "i'm fine" i say and he looks at me alarmed "okay i need candy, starbucks, and candles" he says and he grabs the keys "follow me bubba" he says as he drags me by my hand and i laugh "i don't even have a bra on" i say and he shrugs "jaden!" i say as i slap his arm and he chuckles "what? i don't care, it's not like you got boobs anyway" he says and my mouth swings open "woah there bud" i say while bringing out the 'bud' and he looks at me slightly offended "bud? woah there buddy" he says attempting to get a reaction out of me and i start to doze off as i look out the window at the snow flying all around and the evergreens covered in snow and all the stores with icicles hanging on their awnings. it's so peaceful until jaden shakes me violently to wake me up, "here princess" he says as he hands me a cold brew "thanks bubba, where to next" i ask "target, bath and body works, and victoria secret" he says as he looks to me with a smirk "hossler!" i yell and i playfully push him and he laughs "ill buy it" he says excitedly "i can buy my own lingerie hossler" i say and he chuckles "i have a special idea for christmas night" he says and i roll my eyes but also get butterflies on the inside.
