chap. 21 - broken bones and a broken heart

finley's pov: time skip - 2 weeks -
"jaden were going to be late for the premiere" i yell as i stand by our front door in our new apartment. he throws down the car keys and i catch them, i put on my heels and tighten them as he comes down the stairs since we had a loft apartment. i open the door and grab my purse and my phone from the kitchen counter. jaden runs out the door following me, i lock the front door and we go into the elevator and head down to the garage i throw jaden the keys as we walk to the car and i go into the passenger seat. he starts the car and puts his right hand onto my thigh as his left hand on the steering wheel. we back out of the parking garage and go out onto the main streets of los angeles. i fix my hair and then take a quick photo and jaden hits my leg "what jae" i ask "i want to be in a photo" he says and i shake my head no "you gotta pay attention to the road jae" i say and he nods. as we get to a stop light, he mentions that he wants to be in a photo so we take a photo. the light quickly turns green and i slap jadens leg alerting him that the light turned green and he puts his foot on the gas and we zoom through the light. but as we are driving through the light a car comes crashing into us at full speed on the drivers side making the car swerve. as the car swerves another car hits my side making my phone fly out my hand and then our air bags pop out and i feel my nose break since it made direct contact with my face. it starts to get very hazy and blurry then i can't see anything. the doctors say when the air bag popped i got an concussion and passed out. i see faint lights while being rolled into the hospital "what's your name ma'am?" a doctor repeatedly asks me "finley.. finley paige simon" i say very faintly "where's ... my boyfriend, his name is.. jad-e" i say and then it goes dark again. i hear faint screams of doctors yelling and then i pass out again. time flies by at the speed of light, that's what i thought when i finally woke up. i open my eyes and see my siblings sitting around my bed at the hospital "FINLEY!" tatum yells and she gives me a hug and i move to the side to allow her to lay with me like we always did at home. when tatum yelled, bailey and beckett jumped up from their seats they were obviously sleeping. "why do you always get into the accidents" beckett says "where's mom and dad?" i ask "went to get me food" tatum says and i nod "what about jaden?" i ask "can i see him?" i ask and my siblings look around at each other "fin.." bailey says as she comes to my side and brooks moves to baileys chair "bailey is jaden okay?" i ask and she nods "you remember everything right?" beckett asks and i nod "why wouldn't i?" i ask "well finley you've been in a coma for awhile, when the car crash happened... the second car hit your side of car directly and it caused a major head injury" she says "but you woke up once like right after they were able to save your life.. you were coding and you woke and you didn't remember who you were and you barely remembered jaden" she says "no no i remember, i told the doctors my name and i asked them if jaden was okay" i say trying to remember as much as possible "beckett where is jaden.. please tell me" i say and knowing he would never hide the truth from me since he was the closet with me. "fin.. he is at the sway house, he couldn't watch you be in this constant state" he says "okay okay call him, tell him i'm okay" i say and bailey bites her lip "what's wrong bailey, you need to tell me please" i say "when he felt better, he left the hospital and he's kinda together with mads because he needed emotional support" she says and i start to cry "give me your phone bailey now!" i yell "i won't call him, i want to talk to the girls" i say and she hands me her phone and i facetime the girls group chat and all the girls immediately answer "bailey is she awake, can we come see .." eden starts "FINLEY!" she screams and all the other girls smile "we will come over right now okay?" beatrix says and i smile "wait you all are in LA?" i question and they all nod "guys you didn't have to.." i say and indigo giggles "omg i almost died but you guys didn't need to come and make sure i was okay" indigo says in a mocking joking way "fuck you" i say and they all hang up and then i call jaden. "you liar" bailey says as she tries to grab her phone and i pull closer towards me "bailey.. has anything changed?" he asks "jae i'm up" i say "finley.." he says and i nod forgetting i was calling him not facetiming him "yea i woke up a bit ago.. bailey told me that you are with mads again" i say as i bite my lip to hold back the tears "fin.. i wasn't sure if you would ever wake up again" he says and i laugh "the words i would yell at you right now but i can't because i'm laying with tatum and i'm in a hospital but the excuse that you won't sure i would wake up again is the worst excuse ever and i thought you would be the person that would be at my side if this ever happened oh wait you once were the person but i can't rely on you anymore can i?" i say honestly questioning my future because after me and jaden had that talk in the apartment he was back in my plans for the future and i was sure i was in his too. "jaden i want to see you so if you still love me like i love you then you will come" i say and i hang up. a few minutes go by and i watch bailey scroll through youtube on the tv and we come across josh's video talking about me and jaden's relationship on teatok. "turn that on" i say and bailey reluctantly puts it on and jaden is sitting on the couch with bryce and josh and they start talking about the topics and about half way through the topic is me and jaden. right as they start to talk about it, my mom and dad come in the room with chick fil a "finley, your up!" my mom says as she hurries toward me and gives me a hug "i'm so happy that you are awake princess" my dad says and he hugs me on the other side of the bed. tatum snores and steals the blanket "she fell asleep right as we got here with the food" my mom says and i laugh and bailey plays the video again and jaden starts to talk about our relationship and what happened. "so on monday, july 26 me and finley got into a car crash and we were both impacted by the crash but she was impacted way further than me two cars collided into us and the car that hit the passengers hit her side directly and when the air bag went off it broke her nose and gave her a severe concussion but that also caused major brain injury. as i started recovered, nothing changed and when i was fully recovered nothing has changed and we were thinking of pulling the plug on her because it's been a month and nothing has changed. but her family and friends couldn't give up on her and previously finley has had some medical mysteries so they knew that she will be able to pull through like she has before. but i couldn't handle watching her in pain so i decided to step away and let her family handle it and i decided that i will get back together with mads lewis and she has been my support through this and before i was dating finley we were best friends. this whole situation has been hard on her friends, and family so remember to send prayers to her recovery" he says and i turn off the video and we just decided to watch dream's minecraft manhunt. after watching manhunt for like 20 minutes all the girls come into the hospital room even madi and cythnia and they are all excitedly screaming once they walk into the room and tatum quickly wakes up "sorry tatum" the girls say "mom, dad, bailey and beckett are at the cafeteria eating chick fil a. one of the girls can take you there if you don't know where it is tatum" i say and she shakes her head no "i know finley" she says and she walks out of the hospital and the girls all come and give me hugs "i can't wait till you get to you get to the notacontent house" madi says and cythnia nods "wait notacontent has who else?" i ask "we will introduce you to them when you get to leave this place" cythnia says and madi nods "oh i can't wait to sleep in my bed this is mega uncomfy" i say and as i finish my statement.. there's a knock at the door.
