chap. 3 - the waiting room

"hey fin, are you okay?" beatrix says but before she could finish finley falls back, (a little later) "i hope you okay bubba" he says into her ear but we could all hear it.
jaden's pov:
coach runs out of the locker room to try and find the paramedics, i'm still holding finley in my arms. the paramedics finally find their way to the locker room, and i'm looking around and i don't see beckett anywhere, "brooks, where's beckett?" i say and he shrugs "i need to call my mom, eden try and call bailey, brooks try and find beckett, i'll tell my mom to call her parents" i say and they all nod and start using their phones "who's coming with?" one of the paramedics ask "i will" i said while following them out of the locker room and into the school hallway towards the entrance of the school. they load her up into the ambulance and i jump on then i start trying to call my mom after a few rings she picks up, "hey mom, something happened with finley and we're heading to the hospital" i ramble "okay, were coming but what exactly happened?" she asked "eden said that beatrix asked if finley was okay because she looked red and sweaty but before she could answer she fell back and she's passed out now but isn't waking up" i say while trying to hold the tears back "okay hunny, i'll be there as soon as i can" she says "wait mom pick up tatum and bailey i think their at the house and call her parents" i say and i hear a faint "okay" before i hang up. i look around and we seem to be in front of a hospital and i look down at my best friend, my crush, finley laying down on a stretcher not waking up. i don't know what i would do without her because our whole lives have been each other. sure we had our little fights and arguments but she also found a way to forgive me even though i'm the most stubborn person -. "hello??" someone says and i look around and i paramedic is staring at me "sorry deep in my thoughts" i say and he nods. i jump off the ambulance and walk through the emergency doors where i see people in horrible pain and people hearing the news about their families and it doesn't look good "sir, please go sit in the waiting area" the lady at the front desk said while pointing to the chairs in the corner of the emergency room and i nod while walking over to the chairs. i look at my phone to see missed calls and texts from lily.

i look around and see my mom along with bailey and tatum, "jaden, what happened?" bailey asks me "i was playing but beatrix was asking finley if she was okay because she looked red and warm but then she passed out and isn't waking up" i say "hey tatum" i say while doing our handshake. she comes and sits on my lap "is finley going to be okay jae?" she asks and i shrug "she's in god's hands now" i say and she lays her head on me "where is beckett?" bailey asks and i shrug "he was at the game right?" she asks and i nod "i'll ask brooks i told him to find him" i say while shooting him a text.

"bails, they found him and are coming right now" i say and she nods. i see her shoulders stop tensing up and she looks more calm and sits down next to me and tatum. my mom works as a nurse so she is trying to get any little information on finley. our friends finally show up, "beckett you stupid bitch" bailey says while smacking beckett in the arm "hey guys" i say about to get up but i notice tatum is sleeping "someone should take her home" i say to them "me, jaden, and eden will stay. you guys to go to the house and sleep anywhere and put her to bed" bailey says while taking tatum off of me and handing her to brooks, "here are the car keys and the house keys" bailey says and hands them to amber. my mom comes over to me and the girls "their leaving?" she asks and i nod "they need sleep and everyone doesn't need to stay here" bailey says "eden you don't have to stay" i say "i can't leave her, she is my best friend too" she says while touching my shoulder and i nod "i just got some info on finley's condition, she is breathing and well. she actually woke up but they are confused on what exactly happened" she says and we're all confused "can we go see her?" i ask and my mom nods "where?" i ask and "ask the front desk lady" she says "mom you can go home" i say "no i'm technically her mother until her parents show up" she says and i nod. the nurse is telling bailey where to go so me and eden just follow her "this way" she says and we follow "this is it" she says while opening the door "omg finley" she says while running up to her "you scared us" eden says and she laughs "what even happened?" i ask and she shrugs "i don't even know, i just felt hot one second than the next everything went dark" she says and we all come over and hug her "we're you crying bubba" she says while pointing to my eyes and i slowly nod "bubba, i love you" she says while telling me to come closer. i come closer and she does what i never thought would happen....
