Carmen heard it before she even got down the steps. She had been heading downstairs because her friend was coming over and they were going to go for a walk.Carmen raced towards the door, and flung it open to find a girl and a boy, both about her age. She couldn't hide the disappointment on her face, even though it was only there for a second. The boy noticed and looked a little hurt.

"May I ask you where we are?" the boy asked and then added, "My name is Ben by the way, and this is Zoe."

"Hello, Ben and Zoe. My name is Carmen. You are in the state of Delaware."

   "Where is Delawara?"

"Delaware. And it is in the United States."

"Do you mind showing us a map? We don't know where our home is."

"Of course! A map of the world or the state."

"The world please," Ben paused for a moment as if thinking something, but seemed to forgot what he was going to say.

"Do you have a phone?" Zoe asked. It was the first time Carmen had ever heard her speak. Her voice sounded like the voice of someone younger than Carmen, but Carmen ignored it. Carmen then noticed Ben staring at her hair. She was asking herself why when she remembered that she had dyed her hair blue before she answered the door.

"Yes, and I will If you will follow me, we can go check out that map. I think my brother has a map of the world somewhere in his room." Carmen said and walked out the door, to the side of the house ushering Ben and Zoe to follow.

Carmen led them past the garage and onto the deck. Carmen walked up to a siding glass door and opened it. Zoe and Ben looked as though they had never seen a siding door. Carmen decided to ignore it. Carmen said, "If you want you can come in, they don't bite." As she motioned towards Cristian and Ryan, who were playing pool.

"We don't bite anyone, except Carmen." Cristian said jokingly

"This is my brother Crstian and my brother Ryan. Ryan, do you have a world map they can borrow?"

"Yeah, in my room, but don't you have one too?" Ryan said.

"yeah, but my room is all the way upstairs."

   "Fine"

"Thanks!" Carmen led Ben and Zoe into the house, where they stayed and watched Cristian and Ryan play pool. Carmen walked into Ryan's room and saw the map right away. It was rolled up in the corner by his nightstand. She grabbed the map and walked into the game room. "Okay, here is the map."

Carmen unfolded the map and set it down face up on the table Ben and Zoe stood on either side of her, looking at the map, confused. Finally Ben said, "Our home isn't on here."

"Carmen looked at their wrists and said, "When did you take your watches off?"

"Oh, those come on and off whenever they feel like it. My watch led me to a portal. Zoe and I had similar watches."

   "That is very odd."

   "Why?"

"Because my brother and I have had a similar thing happening. I have been watching and the watch will appear and disappear as it pleases."

   "Oh."

"I'm sorry, you were probably expecting me to know what was happening." Zoe was about to say something but a loud crash came from outside. It came from the direction of the lake, but when they looked out they didn't see anything.

Everyone but Carmen had turned away. Carmen's face was covered in fear. When Cristian looked at her face, his face shone with fear. Cristian screamed and ran under the pool table. Carmen thought that it was weird that he didn't care to look at what was scaring her, but she didn't care to ask. What was scaring her was something to terrible to name. She had seen it before, but she had only caught glimpses of it.

Carmen couldn't help it. The memory flooded in. Carmen was at camp. Three glowing yellow eyes appeared in the bay. Carmen had just enough time to shout, 'get down' before it attacked. Carmen couldn't remember anything past the fact that nobody listened to her, and something knocked her down and she was out cold for three weeks.

"Wha-what is that?" Zoe asked, fear and panic rising in her voice. Her face was pale, Ben's face wasn't very different. He used to hold his head up high and he was about to duck under- there he goes.

"Ben ran under the pool table and asked Cristian, "Why did you run under here without looking at the reason why your sister was scared?"

"Because my twin sister isn't scared of anything. When she is scared, you best be scared. You can't lie about not being scared of something she is scared of.

Sorry it has been so long since I last updated. I have been helping my friend @Eliasoct22with his book of poems. They are amazing poems and I think you should go and reading them i am really thankful for my friends and all of their support because right now they are the only ones who have read my book. They tell me that it is amazing, but I disagree.
