When Carmen came in saying that he didn't bite, he wanted to bite her. Cristian knew that he didn't bite people, but he wanted to bite her because she said that. Cristian also had no idea why she was bringing strange kids into the house without their parents permission. It almost made him want to go up and tell his mom. But, he didn't because when Carmen went to get the map, he got to talk to Ben for a little bit. Zoe didn't talk much, and he wondered if she was always like that.

But that was before something happened. Cristian had taken one look at his sisters face and he ran under the pool table. He almost wanted to pull her down with him, but thought of the last time he tried doing that. He had hurt everywhere for two days. Cristian had wondered how a girl so small could make him hurt so much.

Cristian looked at what had scared his sister so much and freaked out even more. Cristian could feel a scream coming but Carmen stuck a towel in his mouth, stopping him.

"This thing can hear everything for three hundred miles. And it's hearing isn't bad." Carmen said as quietly as she could.

"What is it called?" Ben asked. Ben was shaking so badly that Cristian wondered if he would explode. Cristian could picture it in his mind. There were colorful fireworks and Ben blew up. For some reason, Ben had turned into a giant. Then, Cristian noticed that everyone was looking at him as if he had three eyes. Luckily, nobody knew what he was thinking, and none of that had happened.

"Cristian! Focus!" Carmen whisper-shouted. She had suddenly became very stern and the way she said it made Cristian want to do what ever she said. So, Cristian focused on the problem at hand. Cristian wondered if Carmen was going to tell them what it was because the way she looked at it made it clear that she knew all about it. They way she talked about it also told him that his sister had all the information they needed to get rid of this thing forever.

"How do we get rid of this thing forever?" Cristian asked. Carmen shot him a death look and turned away. She looked at the thing with a fear that Cristian had never seen from her before.

"Don't be so loud! It will hear us. If it hears us it will..." She tailed off. He stern whispers making it impossible to disobey her. Even Ryan was doing as she said. And Ryan wasn't one who followed orders from his younger siblings. No matter what happened, as long as Cristian had known him, Ryan had never not once followed orders from his younger siblings.

This time, was different. Ryan was trying to play it cool for the kids, but he was obviously freaking out. He may have been playing it cool because he wanted to show that he wasn't weaker than his younger sister. Cristian couldn't believe that Carmen looked perfectly normal, like this kind of thing happened every day. She looked like this was her normal life. Cristian planned on asking her when he was allowed to talk.

Carmen pulled up her pants leg a little and Cristian saw a dagger. Cristian was tempted to ask if she brought that with her to school. He just had to add it to the list of thing to ask her when he was allowed to talk. The thing was creating a path of disruption everywhere it went. It was coming towards them. It looked as if it was smelling the air. The loud crashing of buildings and homes being thrown and hitting other buildings filled the air. Cristian was afraid that it would follow them no matter where they went.

"I know-" Ben started before Carmen shushed him. "Its just that the watches are back" Ben quickly said before Carmen could shush him again."

   "Great idea!" Zoe exclaimed.

"No." Carmen said sternly. "If you go now, you will only go where he wants. You will go to the deepest darkest place ever. And he knows his way around there. He hasn't left in a long long time. Been a few thousand to a million years since he left."

"Oh." Zoe sounded a little sad, but glad at the same time. Carmen's face lit up and she ran out the door and onto the deck. The ran down the hill and stopped when she got to the water. Cristian thought she was crazy when she started yelling and threw her weapon into the water.
