Warning: Some sensitive topics such as depression and self harm in this chapter
Seven days. Seven days without his kids and Chase was still as shattered as a broken mirror. Everyone in the house had made sure to take extra care after his first state of depression. They had hidden all bottles of alcohol in Dark's room and safety locked all the kitchen knives and hidden all the pills in Anti's bathroom.
All four Google Units took turns watching over the human and he stayed in his room all the time, only using the bathroom joined onto his bedroom and had to have food brought up to him or he wouldn't eat.
Jack had been forced to fly back to Brighton to see Felix but promised to come back as soon as he could. Ethan's egos came around on the second day to see how he was doing but couldn't get a word from him.
Chase was curled up in bed, his whole body numb, his eyes sore from crying and not sleeping for the past three nights. "I am going to go make you lunch, Chase, I will be right back," Google Red told him.
The human simply nodded and once he heard his door click shut he got up and sluggishly walked to the bathroom. He closed the door behind him and locked it, he leaned against the sink and kept his gaze away from his reflection, aware of how horrendous he looked.
He leaned down and opened the cabinet under the sink and pulled out a razor blade, the one thing they had forgotten to keep out of his reach. He slid down the bathroom door and held the blade over his arm before halting.
He didn't want to cut. It was just an impulse that he knew was wrong and he shouldn't listen to. He gazed down at the scars that he'd made previously and how much they'd hurt. Did he really want to go down that path again?
"Daddy."
A little girl's voice made him jump out his trance and drop the blade onto the floor. He looked around wildly and through blurred vision he swore he saw three little people.
"Anti if you're messing with me, you're sick," he croaked as he hauled himself to his feet and leant down to pick up the blade.
"Please don't do it Daddy."
He stood up straight and pressed himself against the door, staring in utter shock as he saw the three ghostly figures of his children.
"You don't want to do it dad," Aaron urged as their forms became more solid but still slightly translucent.
"I'm going crazy," he breathed. "You can't be here, you were killed."
"We were," Harvey nodded his head. "By a mean man with blonde hair."
Chase gasped and covered his mouth with his hands, tears welling up in his dry eyes. "I'm hallucinating, I haven't slept in three days," he tried to reason with himself as his heart rate sped up.
"You're not hallucinating Daddy," Lucy stated with a small smile. "We came back as ghosties!"
"Really?" Chase frowned. "Will Google be able to see you?"
"Maybe, we're not sure yet," Aaron shrugged.
"Chase," Google Red called out. "I have your lunch, where are you?"
