Shades

Chapter 18

Ame blinked as he woke up, he rolled over to feel Russia sleeping next to him. Then it hit him. He jolted upwards, questions filled his head. What would his family think?

What would his father think. Ame sat there panicking, not noticing that he had woken up Russia.

"Ame? What's wrong?" Russia asked. Ame looked over, a panicked expression on his face and a few tears threatening to fall. Slightly alarmed Russia sat up next to the smaller country.

"Hey what's wrong?" Russia asked, wrapping his arm around Ame.

"Russia I-" Ame shoved his face into Russia's chest. He knew that none of his family really knew that he and Russia were a thing, well Canada probably did but that was different. Canada would always accept him, no matter what. That was just kind if him and Canada's thing, they knew each other like back if their hand. When they were very young Ame took care of Nada, after the incident Nada took care of Ame.

"Shhh, it's okay." Russia said, rubbing Ame's bare back in an attempt to comfort him.

"Russia I'm afraid of what my family will think." Ame said, shaking a little. "I didn't really ever come out to them. Canada's the only one that really knows anything like that." Ame wrapped his arms around Russia, pulling himself closer.

"Hey it's okay. You have a loving and accepting family, I'm sure everything will be okay." Russia said, kissing Ame on the forehead.

"I know but what if they aren't? I'm not too worried about my mom, I don't think Aussie or Kiwi even know what gay is, I'm just scared about my dad." Ame said, his breathing starting to level out a little more as Russia comforted him.

"Well if he doesn't accept you then screw him. That's his fault if he can't see that you are the best son he could have ever asked for." Russia said with a warm smile as he looked into Ame's black eyes.

"After Canada." Ame said. "Canada is a slightly better son, he takes care of me. Well took care of me after the incident." Ame said, then he paused as he realized something. He hadn't had an episode. He didn't wake up at 2 in the morning unable to control himself.

"Ame? You okay?" Russia said, waving his hand in front of the country.

"Oh my god Russia! This is the best day ever!" He yelled, jumping out of bed. "Woohoo!" He yelled, his hands reaching up to the sky.

"What?" Russia said, sitting there in confusion.

"Russia I didn't have an episode last night! Wait...I need to go tell Canada!" He said, running to the door excitedly.

"Wait Ame! Your still naked!" Russia yelled, jumping out of bed to grab the smaller country before he ran off to go wake up Canada. Not that Canada would have cared too much, they were brothers. It still would have been a bit awkward though, especially with the hickeys Ame had.

"Oh yeah, speaking of you may want to put on clothes. I think my family would be a little uncomfortable if you just walked around like that." Ame said, pulling open a drawer filled with shorts.

"Hmm I wonder why." Russia said sarcastically. Ame smiled. After they both got dressed Ame ran into Canada's room. He shook his younger brother awake.

"Hey Nada guess what!" He said excitedly. Canada groaned an he slowly opened his eyes.

"What is it Ame?" Canada asked, rubbing his eyes. He looked up to see his brothers dark eyes staring at him as he wore a big smile.

"I didn't have an episode." Ame said, barely above a whisper. Canada lay there stunned for a moment.

"W-wait, really?" Nada asked, a few tears forming. Ame nodded and hugged the other. The two sat there, hugging each other, crying a little. Russia stood in the doorway, filming it all on his phone. After the two brothers had their sweet moment together Canada noticed something.

"Not to ruin the moment, but are those hickeys?" He asked, pointing to Ame's neck. Ame and Russia's faces both turned a bright red.

"U-uhm..." Ame averted his eyes and covered up the marks with his hand. Canada smiled and looked over to Russia who was standing in the doorway.

"I trust you to treat him right." He said with a smile. "And if you don't, you better believe there will be hell to pay." Nada said in a dark tone. That was something Russia never imagined Canada as, scary.

After Ame had made the rounds of telling his entire family that he hadn't had an episode France and Britain went downstairs to make breakfast.

They all sat in the living room, eating their toast and eggs. Ame, Russia, and Canada all exchanged glances. Ame took a deep breath in and set his plate on the coffee table. Everyone looked at him, he took a deep breath before speaking.

"Mom, Dad, I-I," he looked over to Canada and Russia who both smiled and gave him a little thumbs up.

"Mom, Dad, I have a boyfriend." Ame said, clenching his hands into fists out of nervousness. It was silent for a moment.

"Ha! I get $50 from Spain!" France said. Ame looked at her with a confused expression.

"I made a bet with Spain. I said you were gay and he said you were straight. Guess I won." She said. Ame rolled his eyes, but there was still a smile in his face. Britain just sat there, staring over at Ame and Russia. Then France pointed to her neck, Ame and Russia's faces flushed.

"Oh yeah and we um...." he looked at Aussie and Kiwi who were sharing one if the chairs.

"America. Please don't tell me you...did itwith that bloody communist." Britain finally said, glaring at Russia.

"Dad he's not a communist, and even if he was I'd love him all the same!" Ame yelled. France stood up, ready to break whatever sight was about to occur.

"Oh, he's capitalist?" Britain said, a slightly surprised expression on his face. Ame and Russia nodded.

"Oh, well in that case uh, good for you I guess." Britain said, setting his empty plate on the coffee table and grabbing his cup if tea.

"Wait your not mad? Or even bothered a little bit?" Ame asked. Everyone looked surprised as UK sipped his tea.

"No not really." He said. Kiwi slid off the chair and walked over to Russia.

"You were top weren't you?" She said with a smirk.

"Kiwi!" Everyone but Russia yelled.

"Who taught you those things!" France yelled, walking over to her daughter.

Russia looked down at Ame's face as they hugged. He smiled, so cute, he thought as he saw Ame's face.

"I'll see you tomorrow at school." Ame said. Instead of giving a proper answer Russia leaned down and kissed Ame, it didn't take long for the kiss to get a little heated.

"You do realize that we can all see you right?" Canada said in a slightly monotone voice. Ame and Russia quickly pulled away from each other, both of their faces a bright red. Canada smiled.

"You two make an adorable couple." Nada said with a smile.

"Oh shut up." Ame said, walking towards the door. "Bye Russia." Ame mumbled. Russia smiled.

"Bye." He said, walking down the driveway.
