Bring!

That was the bell to signal the end of third period and the start of last period. My last class was historic science, taught by Mr. Kanish.

Everyone in my math class collected their things and stood up while talking to their friends about the homework Mr. Gavish had given us. I walked out of the classroom in silence and met Cass in the hallway.

"Hey, what class is next?" she asked.

"I have Historic Science with Mr. Kanish"

"Me too!"

We got our textbooks for the class and I showed her where it was. We were a little early, so Cass didn't want to go to class. Despite Cass wanting to chill out, I went into class and took my seat.

"Good afternoon Ava"

I took my seat and put my things in my desk.

"Good afternoon Sir. What are we doing in class today?" I asked eagerly.

"Ah that's for me to know, and you to find out." We smiled at each other.

Right on cue, the bell rang and the rest of the class filed in.

"Good afternoon everyone. Drop off your books and head down the stairs behind you."

He showed us a car that can travel at speeds that race car drivers could only dream of going. We got a little time to take a look at the car after someone in the class demonstrated it. Although I'm not one for cars, I can still appreciate them and the way they're made.

"Alright, class is almost over. Let's head back up."

The class followed Mr. Kanish back to the classroom just in time for the bell to ring. I collected my things and went to ask him about the car.

"Sir"

He looked up from his desk where he looked like he was finishing up from work.

"Yes Ava?"

"I was wondering when that car down there" I nodded towards the trap doors "was made. It doesn't look that modern, but the technology is very modern."

"Yes, it was designed to be that way. It was created-oh hi Kayla."

I turned to the door. A medium height girl who wasn't the thinnest, but also wasn't the plumpest, walked into the classroom. She had long blonde hair and wore regular jeans, a tube top, and those VANS shoes. She ran her hand through her hair and kissed Mr. Kanish on the cheek. I was a little surprised at this. He must have seen this a laughed a little.

"Ava, this is Kayla, my girlfriend. Kayla, this is Ava. She's the curious student I've told you about."

"It's nice to meet you" she said with one of those cool girl smiles. She stuck her hand out and chewed her gum loudly. I stook her hand with a genuine smile.

"It's nice to meet you too"

"Oh to answer your question Ava, that car has been modified to look like it was old, when it was only created last year."

"Oh! Cool! I better get going" I said and headed for the door. I was about to walk out when he called my name.

"Oh and Ava. You don't have to call me Sir. You can call me Isaac just like everyone else."

"Oh ok. See you tomorrow Si- Isaac."

I turned around and headed out the door.

"Took you long enough."

I whipped around and saw Cass leaning against a locker. I breathed a sigh of relief.

"You scared me."

"Oh sorry. Ready to head back?"

Zip

I zipped up and put on my backpack.

"I'm heading out!" I called up the stairs. Cass came running down.

"Hey wait for me!"

"You're early" I said walking out the front door. Cass followed just behind me.

"Yeah, I had my morning coffee a little earlier this morning. Edward left a few minutes ago and I want to talk to him."

"Oh ok"

We walked down the street, heading to the school. We rounded the corner to the street with the school at the end of the street.

"Have you been in this little old town all your life?" Cass turned to me with her thumbs under her backpack straps.

I sighed.

"No. I lived with my parents being home schooled. When my tutor had to leave, so did I. My father fell sick and I couldn't stay in the place that I had found out my father had died, so I came here for 9th grade."

"Oh, I'm so sorry"

"It's ok. How about you? Why did you come here?"

She shrugs. "Just needed a change I guess. Here we are"

I looked up to see good old brick McLean High School. We walked in and found Teary and Edward sitting at one of the benches around the cherry tree.

"Hey"

"I'm surprised to see you up and not looking so tired this morning." Teary said with a little laugh.

"Yeah I had my coffee early this morning." She ran her hand through her hair.

I smiled at her. I stopped and looked at the ground for a sec.

"Did that really just happen?" I thought.

"You ok Ava?"

I looked up from the ground. "Yeah, I just gotta go to the bathroom."

Smooth comeback, check.

I hurried into the bathroom, hoping they would think it's my...time of the month if you what I mean.

I just took a deep breath and looked at myself in the mirror. I couldn't believe that I had just look at Cass like that. I've never looked at anyone in the way for years.

I couldn't believe that I might have a crush on Cass.

Hi!

Sorry it's been a while. I can explain though.

I got writers block. I had no idea what the next step was. As I was trying to come up with an idea, I realized that this wasn't all my story to tell.

The inspiration for this book came from a roleplay I did online. I thought it was just perfect for my first book on Wattpad. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to ask all the people who played the characters if I could use their characters in a book. I figured they would have all said yes, and started writing. I realized that this wasn't just my story, and I stopped writing. I spent a lot of time thinking about what I was going to do next. I even thought about taking the book down, and starting a new one. Just stopping writing and coming back to it later was also an option in my mind. Eventually, I decided to continue. I wanted to do my best to give as much credit to those who were in the rp. If your reading this (you know who you are), thank you.

One more thing before I go, I now have an editor! I won't say who because I'm not sure if they would be ok with me saying their identity, so I'll be keeping it a secret for now. So thank you editor.
