After lectures that Thursday, Ayo walked out of her lecture room. General Biology was her last course. Earlier on, she had had Environmental Microbiology, General Biochemistry and Biostatistics. She walked on till she heard someone calling her name. She looked towards that direction and saw Brie walking towards her. She stood still, waiting for Brie to reach her on time but Brie continued walking coolly.

Ayo sighed and walked hastily towards Brie.

"Yo, what up?" Brie asked as she watched Ayo come closer. Ayo stood still and folded her arms.

"I should be the one asking that Brie, what's up? Why are you looking for me?" she asked with a frown on her face. Brie laughed and nudged Ayo's shoulders.

"Alright, alright, chill, well, I'm going to meet my sis, and I thought maybe you would want to accompany me," Brie said and started walking. Ayo quickly walked behind her, following her closely.

Brie brought out a packet of bubble gums and gave one to Ayo. "Want some?" she asked.

Ayo shook her head. "No thanks," she said, politely refusing Brie's offer.

"Well, more for me," Brie said and chuckled as she tossed a piece of the candy into her mouth.

"So, you were saying that your big sis is schooling here, right?" Ayo asked and held Brie's hands as they walked. Brie chuckled.

"Grow up gurl," she said as she yanked her hand from Ayo's own. "And yeah, my big sis is schooling here, she's in her final year though," Brie said as she put her hands inside the pockets of her hoodie and continued walking.

Ayo pursed her lips and followed Brie. "Okay, so why are we going to meet your sis?" she asked as she walked alongside Brie.

"She told me to come and meet her," Brie said and walked past some boys who sat on a cemented pavement, watching as they walked.

Ayo looked at Brie with a questioning look. She started to talk but was rudely interrupted by the boys who were whistling. They had gotten up by now and were walking towards Ayo and Brie, four of them in all.

Ayo frowned and looked at them. Brie turned back. "Scram kids," she said, but the boys laughed it off and approached them.

"Hey," one of them started as he came closer to Ayo, smiling.

"Just calm down, would ya?" another said. Brie came to Ayo's front, standing in between Ayo and the boys. She folded her arms and chewed her bubble gum loudly.

"Take it easy, we just want your phone numbers," the tallest of the boys said as he brought out his phone and gave it to Ayo.

Ayo looked at his outstretched hand, then she looked at him, a deep frown etched on her face. "Why would he think I would give my phone number to a stranger?" she thought.

"You take that phone outta her face or I'mma gonn slap y'all silly," Brie growled at the boys. They moved back a bit and looked at each other while laughing.

"Whoa, take it easy tiger," one of them said and the boys all burst out laughing. Brie moved closer to them.

"Only my friends call me tiger," she said with a smirk on her face. Ayo tried to hold back her laughter.

One of the boys began to feel uneasy. "Guys, let's just leave them alone, there are plenty of other girls in the campus," he said and turned to go.

"Aaron, come on, chill, you're not scared of just one lil girl, are you?" the tallest said, trying to reassure his comrade.

Aaron shook his head. "I dunno man, did you see what she did to Asher? Asher was in his third year, we're in our second year man, I'm sorry, but that girl is bad news," he said and walked away.
