Y/N was mildly freaking out in his head as he carried his little sister on his back.

The fact that she didn't die by getting pelted with stones back then was already a miracle, but them crossing paths? This is a blessing.

Y/N knew he needed to get back and regroup with Uzui as soon as possible, but he can't just leave Nadeshiko behind, they'd been apart for too long, and he really missed out on most of her life already, he needed to make it up to her somehow.

"Ne, Saihara chan!"
Y/N called out to his Kasugai Crow "Can you help me locate a nearby inn? The safest you can find, if you will."

The crow let out a squawk before setting out to do what it's partner tasked it to do,

Y/N has faith that his crow wouldn't fail, it never failed before, so he knew it won't fail today.

"She really grew up, huh?"
He muttered to himself with a smile, she's alot taller than him now...not to mention she really looks beautiful, which would explain the way those guys gave her a chance at mercy earlier...

...and also the looks they're receiving right now.

These horny bastards have it in for his dear 'ol sister, and Y/N was, once again, reminded of how much he hates this town and wishes it to go to hell.

He responded by holding the hilt of his Nichirin Blade and giving another one of his sinister smiles, this served as a warning, a warning the locals took seriously.

Y/N aimlessly walked, waiting for his crow to return, so that he could immediately back up Uzui and the others should the situation escalates, and considering it's probably an Upper Moon that they're facing, it's most likely gonna happen,

Which is why he also needs to find a safe place for Nadeshiko to hide in until the situation settles.

"Mhm..."

The liar heard stirring from behind him.

"Did you have a good rest...?"
He asked her in a brotherly tone.

"Onii san..."
Nadeshiko muttered before resting her cheek on his shoulder and tightening her hold on him.

"Ease up abit."
Y/N gave a little chuckle as he said this.

"Sorry. I just never thought we'd see each other again... This is the happiest I've been in awhile."
She gave him one of her sweet smiles, a smile he knew he failed to protect once.

"Don't worry, we're never gonna part again, so you can take it easy now."

Nadeshiko nodded at this and loosened her grip before yawning and resting her chin on his shoulder.

"Ne, Onii san..."

"Yea?"

"Why do you carry a sword around?"

Y/N's eyes squinted at the question as he was reminded of the many routes he took, suffered, and died in.

'It'd be fine to tell her right?'
He thought to himself with his expression being serious.

"It'd be alright to tell me."
He heard his sister suddenly speak as he turned his gaze to her, and what he saw isn't what he expected...

Her eyes...they glowed a shiny blood red, much like his when his retaining eyes is active.

"Nadeshiko...you..."

"I-I'm sorry, I've had this ability for awhile now...for some reason, I can always tell what other people are feeling, I can also try to convey to others how I feel."
She explained, already knowing the full extent of her abilities.

Y/N was a little surprised, his abilities stemmed from the 1st route where he became a demon and created his own Blood Demon Art, that being the retaining eyes.

Nadeshiko seems to have her own, but she's a regular human...

...isn't she?

Y/N took a glance at Nadeshiko again, she looked human to him, with the exception of her red eyes currently active.

After a few moments, he decided on what to do.

"Well, my dear sister, I am a Demon Slayer, that's why I carry a sword."

"A Demon...Slayer...?"

"Yep! I kill demons that roamed the lands at night, but..."

Y/N placed his pointer finger on his lip, mimicking a “hush” motion and giving his sister a playful wink.

"...keep it a secret, okay?"

Nadeshiko nodded and went into deep thought, her eyes returning to their normal color.

"So they're real after all."
She muttered only enough for her and her brother to her.

"You've encountered demons before?"

"I think I have...I got hurt by one before, but I managed to get away."

Y/N could tell she wasn't lying, but it's weird how she just simply got away from a demon who's most likely trying to devour her.

"I'm glad you got out safely."

"Mhm. I'm thankful that I got away with only a wound on my shoulder. I never would've gotten to meet my Onii san if I'd have died."
She gave him a hug and nuzzled her face into Y/N's haori.

She looked so precious that Y/N didn't wanna consider a certain possibility...but he had to.

It isn't confirmed yet, but he's suspicious...

*SQUAWK!*

"Oh... it's Saihara chan."

Y/N held out his arm in order for the Crow to perch on it, it relayed a specific set of instructions and directions in order for them to get to the inn.

"Oooh... what's that, Onii san?"
Nadeshiko asked while petting it's head with her finger.

"This is a Kasugai Crow, they serve as messengers so that we Demon Slayers have away of communicating with each other."
Y/N told her as the crow flew and rested on top of Nadeshiko's head.

"His name is Saihara chan, right?"

Y/N nodded at the question.

"Good evening, Saihara chan."
Greeted Nadeshiko to the crow as the crow answered with a squawk.

No matter how much he looks at it, she's his little sister, or atleast...heavily resembles her,

But the fact that she has red eyes similar to his, only with a different ability, is what puts him on edge.

She has her smile, her eyes, her hair, her laugh...

...but is it really her?

Y/N fears the time he might have to answer this question,

Though it might come sooner than he thought,

He just hopes he's somehow wrong.

Just some sibling time, the calm before the storm, so to speak.

If anyone is interested, I can tell you if Nadeshiko really is a demon or not, I'll reply the answer if asked.

For those who're wondering, her power is the "Favouring Eyes" only an improved version of it since she can also tell what others are feeling.
