[3rd Person POV]

Ever since the incident at the Red Light District had ended, Uzui Tengen officially retired from the Demon Slaying Corps. after having lost both an eye and an hand.

It was a peaceful morning for him and his wives, having only living a few days of their lives as normal people as the other past days had them recovering from their injuries from the fight with Upper Moon 6.

The former Sound Hashira basked in the sunlight at the porch of his Estate, taking in the sounds of chirping birds and the slight music the wind produced everytime it blew, his white hair flowing ever-so-freely in response to it.

There was nothing more to be said, his life as a Demon Slayer is no more, and Oyakata-Sama was more than kind enough to understand Tengen's desire to live as normal people with his wives, a luxury that was taken away from them at a very young age due to being bred as a shinobi.

While Makio and Suma would be the cause of the ruckus majority of the time with Hinatsuru acting as a mediator, it was nonetheless a life living finally at peace.

It was during one of his sighs in relief that he heard crunching leaves, footsteps, one that isn't even trying to hide itself.

Then it stopped, Tengen took notice in his surroundings, the same quiet scenery he enjoyed, that would occasionally be disrupted by random noise. Either it be a rock thrown or another crunching of a leaf, or rustling from the trees.

The moment it got a little too suspicious that Tengen sighed in exasperation.

"Whaaat? Not even going to defend yourself?"
said a voice from on top of a tree branch.

Tengen lazily looked up to see the H/C haired boy, crouching on a tree with his chin on his palm, his elbows using his lap as base.

"What're you doing here?"
Said the former Sound Hashira, obviously not too keen in seeing the boy, granted they were never close, but they both respected each other's strength; especially since Y/N is the only person who beat him in a race.

"Just wanted to see how you're doing, and boy gotta hand it too ya, you did a good job making sure nobody from the Corps. died that day."

"Please, I don't need your recognition. Besides, people still died that day, while I flamboyantly fought with that Upper Moon to near-death, it isn't a flawless mission."

Tengen answered with his usual tone, but Y/N could tell that it bothered him.

Y/N hopped off the tree branch before sitting next to Tengen who moved away slightly.

"I guess it wouldn't comfort you that there are more terrible people there than there are good people, right?"

"Are you crazy?! Why would anyone be comforted by something like that?!"

"Well, uhh... I mean look at the bright side, there more living people than there are dead people!"

Tengen didn't even bother responding to Y/N's twisted humor; opting to just look at him disgustingly instead.

"I got nothing."
Y/N just shrugged.

"And here I feared you would be in a coma for sometime longer, guess that was starting to seem like a good idea after all."
Uzui commented, prompting Y/N to huff

"That's mean."
He replied with a soft laugh.

The pair enjoyed a quiet moment, something rare considering that both argue all the time.

After a while, Y/N started another conversation.

"How is everyone...?"

Uzui turned to Y/N, the boy didn't bother looking back at the former Hashira.
