XXVII - A not so Fairy Tale

“What?!”

I looked at Logan with disbelief. He was not supposed to tell it, especially that both of our lives are in danger. He genuinely smiled at me and ruffled my hair.

“Again, what?” Thalia asked.

Logan raised a brow on her, “Hindi abot ng utak mo?” Tangina nito. Bigla na lamang siyang bumaling kay Hunter saka ito ngumisi, “I have never been against your antics towards my sister. Even though I really wanted to scold you for stealing a bunch of kisses from my sister. I still choose to shut my mouth…”

I unknowingly punched his back and glared at him, “Why the hell did you tell them?”

“Because my stupid best friend just had a wrong idea—”

“The hell happened to your principle about picking me over everything? You were actually thinking his sake—”

“Is this what we call siblings fight?” Clover joked.

Nanatiling masama ang tingin ko kay Logan. Habang ang ibang mga zodiacs ay parang mga gagong kumakain ng Potchi na para bang nanonood sila ng teleserye. Tangina niyo talaga.

“Y—you’re a Flint?” Hunter asked.

“Kakasabi lang na kapatid, pota. Edi malamang…” Dinig kong komento ni Austin, “Parang mga tanga ‘yong bida sa pinapanood natin.”

Inis kong nilingon ang gagong iyon saka pinanlisikan ito ng mga mata, “Gusto mong mamatay?” Iniiwasan lamang ni Austin ang mga mata ko at pakunwaring nakikipag-usap sa pader.

“Kaya ba takot na takot ka kay Logan dahil kuya mo s’ya?”

“Yeah…” I mumbled.

Darren scratched the back of his head as if something is still confusing him, “So, why do you have Sphene as your surname? Why not Flint?” He asked.

All of a sudden, Zeus got out of the crowd while raising his hand, and everyone were looking quizzically except me.

“She. Me.” He pointed out while walking in my direction, making my brother confusedly looked at me.

“Oh, tungkol sa inyo ni Scarlett… Alam namin ‘yon but we fucking need more content than those two words of yours.” Maddie hissed.

I heaved a sigh and glanced at Zeus. At dahil alam ko namang hindi s’ya magkukuwento ay mas mabuting ako na lamang, “Do you know the legendary assassin of the Garnet Family?” I asked, and they all nodded, “She was Zeus’s mother…”

“Hala, pota. Seryoso ba?” Gulat na tanong ni Hunter.

“Tangina, president! Garnet ka ba talaga?!” Singhal sa kanya ni Zayn.

“And she was a Sphene, which I considered my second mother.” Growing up apart from my real family was a pain in the ass. But having Zeus and his mother by my side was enough to fulfill my loneliness—they are, after all, my second family, “I don’t know, but Travis didn’t get a hard time finding this out—”

“Chismoso naman ‘yong siraulong ‘yon palibhasa kasi bishop.” Sinamaan ni Hallie nang tingin si Austin na bigla na lamang umimik.

“What’s wrong being a bishop?” Hallie asked.

“W—wala…”

I let out a sigh and sat down on the floor, making them follow what I did.

“You just knew that I was Amethyst… A protector of Garnet Family’s heir. And it’s funny that just like the kings, I am sharing the same fate as them.”
