"I mean it obvious right?" John B asked
"Yeah" Kie and I answered
"A family heirloom, I mean what better place to hide a message. He had to know it was gonna get back to me right?" He questioned, we all sat in silence as we listened to him.
"Yeah, it's possible. Sounds about
right" I answered breaking the silence.
"It could always be possible, that your concocting wild theories to help, you know deal with you sad feels" Pope added
"Pope?" John B questioned
"Bro, you know how I Process my sad feels? Dank nugs and the stickiest of ickies that's how I do it." JJ said
"I'm not concocting, okay?" John B yelled, "My dad's trying to give me a message."
"If it helps you believe John B" Kie said But was cut off.
"Look, I don't need a therapy session, okay?" He snapped at us "I'm not tripping out"
"It's okay to trip bro, but-" JJ explained but got cut off
"Look my dad is missing, okay?" He cut JJ off. "Missing, You don't know what it's like to have the closest person to you vanish. And have no idea what happened, Just wake up every morning wondering." He explained as he his voice got lower and lower.
"It's been almost a year" I whispered
"Hey, he could've been kidnapped that's definitely a possibility" JJ chimed in.
"Yeah, could be in a Soviet sub getting interrogated by the KGB somewhere" Pope added
"Absolutely Uh, or Atlantis" JJ stated
"JJ. What do you think the message is?" Kie asked
"Redfield. Redfield lighthouse, that was my dad's favorite place." He answered. We all got out of the van.
"Okay, here's what's gonna happen you and gonna post up and look out for bogeys, okay?" John B said to JJ
"Wait, Why Me?" He questioned
"Because your not coming" Pope chimed in.
"Why?" He asked
"Look JJ, there are independent and dependent variables. You're independent are we don't know what you'll do." Pope said
"Shut Up!" JJ yelled continuously as they kept arguing cutting eachother off.
"Listen to me for a second!" John B yelled. "Pope you stay and look out with JJ and Lilia"
"If we get split up we meet back up at JJ's house." John B explained
"Great" Kie said as they walked towards the lighthouse.
"I'm gonna work on my Merit Scholarship Essay, And I'm trying to keep felonies down to a minimum" Pope said looking at JJ and I.
"Okay, will you just shut up already?" JJ asked as he kicked around
"Can y'all both shut the fuck up?" I asked as I stood against the van. As silence filled all around. We heard sirens and straight ahead were officers pulling into the state park.
"Oh shit" I said as we ran to the van. JJ drove off without hesitation. I've already been in police trouble 3 times this month and my parents aren't to happy about it so another time would just lead up to more drama.
"What about John B and Kie?" I asked.
"What about them? We already have a meet up plan." Pope answer, I shook my head and played with my bracelets.
•Time Skip•
After the lighthouse I decided to go home.
"Mom, Dad?" I called out throwing my keys on the counter.
"Yes Honey?" My Mom called from upstairs, I ran upstairs following her voice.
"Why are you in my room?" I questioned falling back on my bed.
"Just searching" she replied
"Searching For...?" I asked
"Just make sure you have no illegal things, you know?" She replied with a smile.
"Umm Yeah sure." I laughed, I heard a knock on the door.
"Holy Shit! I just got away from them." I scoffed running downstairs already knowing it was The boys.
"Lilia! Language." My mom yelled, I rolled my eyes. I opened the door.
"Come on princess we got places to be." JJ said pulling me out the house.
"Hold on I need shoes!" I pulled away running upstairs quickly.
"Mom I don't have anything in here" I said, as I slipped on my Vans.
"Where are you going?" She asked
"I don't know somewhere with the boys!" I yelled running downstairs. "Bye mom".
"Where are we going?" I asked
"To pick up Kie" John B answered. We entered the wreck and Pope ran inside to get her, two minutes later he returned.
"She said she's not coming." He yelled.
"Shit" John B mumbled
"Why? I bet one of y'all did something." I said "I'll talk to her"
"No, I'll deal with it." He stopped me.
"Well okay then." I mumbled as I watched him walk into the restaurant. They both returned a coupled minutes later, I sighed in relief because I knew I wouldn't last with these guys if Kie wasn't coming along.
"Hey Babe" Kie said jokingly
"Hey Sweets" I replied as i pulled her into a hug and we both laughed. We hit the road the sun started to go down.
It was another adventure, fun right?.
