"What Now?" JJ asked as we stood on the dock outside the Cameron's house waiting for an appearance of John B "We just go up to the front door and ask, hey have you seen John B?"
"Look, he lives at Tannyhill now. It's plausible." Kie added
"We could play dumb, let's just play dumb" I suggested earning a look from the 3 of them.
"Play dumb?" JJ scoffed
"Look it's pretty late" Pope said
"Look, i've never seen John B like that we should honestly be going to the cops." Kie said, i shook my head in-agreement. It was true i've never seen him like that.
"The cops? Yeah and Say what Kie?" JJ asked her "were worried about our friend because he's going off on a rampage. because Ward Cameron killed Big John."
I watched Pope grab the binoculars out of his bag as the other two argued back in forth.
"See anything?" I asked as he looked into the big house in the distance.
"Yeah, i see ward." He said cutting Kie and JJ off from there argument, they both shut up and walked over to Pope and I.
"Let me see" Kie said, holding her hand out for the binoculars.
"Doesn't look dead to me, let's go home." Pope said
"What?" I asked, Kie saying the same thing shortly after me.
"As you can see Mr. Cameron is fine. Even if John B was here, he isn't now. okay?" He answered "Plus i have the biggest moment of my life in six hours"
"Yeah, well our friend is in trouble" Kie yelled
"I'm in trouble. Guys i haven't been home in three days, My dad's probably put all my shit on the streets by now." Pope replied
"Okay, so that's it?" Kie asked "In the time of need your just gonna bail, your just gonna walk away?"
"Okay, yo guys can we not do this right now?" JJ asked the two who were bickering back and forth.
"Yeah i agree with JJ. Let's n-" I added but was cut off
"Hey. I have the scholarship interview in the morning" Pope said
"I can't-" JJ said
"Well what about, John B?" Kie asked
"Why's it always about John B?" Pope questioned, i ran my fingers through my hair due to frustration.
"It's not always about John B. You're so stupid, It would be any of you guys in this situation" Kie yelled turning to face me.
"Oh, Bullshit!" Pope scoffed at her answer, i sighed looking around the room realizing this wasn't friendship this was just us taking our anger out on eachother due to frustration of the friend we thought could've been in danger.
"This is about friendship" Kie yelled
"It is about friendship but guys come on this right here isn't friendship so could y'all please stop" I said jumping up from my spot.
"Look this about Pogues for life" Kie continued on tears now filling her eyes.
"What about forensic pathology?" Pope asked
"Forensic Pathology" Kie shouted walking away from Pope, i put my head in my hand and look at the floor board of the boat.
"That's my life. Everything i worked for!" Pope yelled
"Guys please" I said blocking out the yelling
"That's your priority?" Kie asked Pope
"Just stop with the moral high ground bullshit" Pope said back to her, my head shot up from my hand and i look straight across to where they were standing.
"Pope, Come on." JJ said
"Pope." I said
"No." He replied
"Excuse me?" Kie asked
"No. No. She has no room to talk." Pope added to his previous answer.
"Where were you when Big John went missing?" He asked "You weren't there, You weren't there for John B, You weren't there for any of us. Remember your Kook Year?"
"Pope-" I said to stop him
"Yeah you forgot about us. Now you feel guilty." He said ignoring me.
"Give me a break!" Kie yelled shoving Pope back.
"Oh shit" I mumbled quickly getting up from where i was sitting and approaching them.
"Hey!" JJ yelled as the two kept fighting
"You cut it out alright!" JJ yelled getting in between the two "If i'm the one mediating, we've hit rock bottom. Bow Now!"
Kie sat down and i sat next to her, her knees were up to her chest and tears gently rolled down her face.
"Pope i'll drop you off" JJ said while he started the engine.
Nobody said a word the whole boat ride all silent, Pope dropped off first and the rest of us rode to the château where i left my car and dropped kie off driving myself home.
I walked into the dark house, it was late very late. I tip toed upstairs quietly just so i wouldn't wake my mom up.
I closed my bedroom door walking into my bathroom where i took a quick shower and brushed my teeth, after following my night routine which i did every night i crawled into bed, i laid in bed thinking but then felt my eye lids get heavy which is when i fell asleep.
