Perrie's POV
Well that's it, tour is officially over, promo for the Christmas single is finished and I'm on my way to Manchester, don't get me wrong, I love tour but I'm so tired and we all know Christmas is my favourite time of the year. Unfortunately, Alex is currently away in the Club World Cup so it's still a few more days until I get to see him. He's playing tonight in the final and I'll be watching with Maddie who's already on the sofa when I arrive. I'm attacked by Otis and Leo as I walk into the front room surprised at the sight of the Christmas tree in the corner that I already know Mads nearly killed Alex in the construction of.
The games just kicked off and the boys are doing well, especially Alex, he looks like he's enjoying himself and that's all that matters. However, as everything in the Oxlade-Chamberlain world seems to do, things go to shit. I walk back in the room with a cup of tea for me and Mads and look at the TV to see Alex on the floor. He's never on the floor unless something has gone seriously wrong, I place the mugs on the table and fixate my eyes on the TV. Worry consumes me as he's stretchered off the pitch, please for the love of all that's holy, don't be too bad. I'm texting him like mad, not really sure what I was expecting until I finally get a reply. "I should be all good xx" is the response I get, I don't know if that's the truth or an attempt to calm me down but I'll take it nonetheless. My worries are further eased as I see him on the pitch celebrating with the rest of the boys at the end, a smile on his face, as positive as ever.
Alex's POV
My ankle hurts like a bitch but I'm looking on the bright side, no game on boxing day means I get to eat all the Christmas dinner, and if it's anything like last years, we're all in for a treat.
I've got off the plane and I make my way back to my house, excited to see the family, Christian came down yesterday and Mum, Dad and Debbie will be over in two days. Christian says he's got news, which is never good but we'll see how that goes. I open the door to be attacked by three excitable dogs, not really convenient when you can't walk but never mind. I look up to see Perrie waiting for me, trying to pull the dogs off of me. I crutch my way over and drop them on the floor before embracing her in a hug, taking in her scent once more. I kiss her cheek and stare into her eyes, as captivating as ever, "I missed you bub" she says before kissing me, "I missed you more, I bet" I reply, knowing how to push the competitive buttons of my girlfriend. She smiles and tells me "we'll agree to disagree" before leading me into the front room where my two siblings are in deep conversation. Christian turns around to see me and I walk over to him and Mads, pulling her in for a much needed hug. I laugh at the state of us, neither of us really able to walk properly. I sit on the opposite sofa and pat the space for Pez to sit in, she cuddles into my side and I kiss her forehead. We then all turn our attention to Christian waiting for his very important news.
"Do you want the good news or the bad news?" was never going to be a good start but it was what we got. "Bad first" Mads replies on behalf of all us, he sighs before the words I really weren't to come out of his mouth followed, "Me and Holly aren't together anymore, we broke up, she moved onto someone else, technically she didn't cheat but you get the idea" I really thought she never would to be fair, I look at Pez who looks as shocked as the rest of us, though I'm not sure if we're more shocked that he's so calm about this. "Don't get me wrong, I'm happy you're okay but shouldn't this be hitting you harder than it is?" I inquire, "yeah I was but it happened in October so I've recovered now" he replies like it's nothing. This motherfucker kept that from me for nearly two months. "And now for the good news" he moves on, "I'm leaving Notts, Brentford offered me a contract" he says with a smile on his face, finally my baby brother was realising his potential and so was everyone else, "ayyy well done" Mads shouts and we jump, well sort of, on him. Brentford are doing well, they're currently in the play offs but I do happen to know their right back just got injured which is probably why he's going there.
Perrie, being Perrie, only needs a glimmer of a reason to celebrate as she walks back in with a bottle of champagne and four glasses. I laugh at her actions and pop open the champagne because she's too scared to. We drink our champagne that we've realised none of us actually like with tonights dinner which happens to be a chinese takeaway because nobody could be bothered to cook and head off to bed.
As I'm laid in bed, my girlfriend wrapped tightly under my embrace, I think how lucky I am, she wouldn't fuck me over the same way Holly did to Christian, I kiss her forehead for about the twentieth time tonight and let myself fall asleep.
Perrie's POV
To say I was shocked by Holly and Christian's breakup would be an understatement but it shows how what you see in a relationship isn't everything. Me and Alex argue, the same as any couple do but it never reaches a point of over the top and I'll forever be grateful for that, forever be grateful for the man who's protective arms are wrapped around me, never letting go.
A/N I'm not really sure what that was but there you go
hope you're all good with this lockdown stuff and hope you're all satisfied with the alex and perrie content we've been getting lately
