"Hey," Anna's softly shaking me.
"Hmm?" I groggily ask.
She smiles, "We're here."
I sit up and look around, I can't contain myself from freaking out. So many people! Big, metal tracks with cars on them are everywhere. I don't know what this place is, but it looks fun! Lots of exotic people with lots of exotic foods walk and talk. What a sight!
"Let's go!" She leads me out of the car and toward a gate with a friendly looking young girl.
"Hello, how are you today?" Her voice isn't as pretty as the rest of her.
"We're doing just fine, how are you?"
Anna says to her.
"I'm here!" The girl says and they both explode into laughter. "How many for you today?"
"Just two," Anna says.
"Alright, that will be fifty-two sixty-five."
Anna hands her the hospital card. The girl scans it and hands it back to her.
"Have a great time at the happiest place on earth!" The girl says to us as we walk through the gate.
I'm awestruck with this 'happiest place on earth'. It's colorful, and lots of flowers are highlighting a giant silhouette of a mouse. Only it doesn't really look like a mouse, rather a circle with two other circles on top.
"Ready?" Anna says to me, interrupting my thoughts.
"Uh... Yeah. Let's go." I say.
First Anna leads me to something called a hotel. Our room has little fish all around it. They are pretty fish, orange with white stripes and blue with a yellow stripe and big eyes. The fish are smiling, which is weird, so I figure it's from a cartoon.
There are two small beds in the room. One for Anna and one for me, I'm guessing. Anna tells me to stay right here in this room behind the wall, because she will be right back. She comes back fifteen minutes later with a huge suitcase. And when I say huge, I mean huge.
She sets it down on the floor out of the way, and we go outside to our first destination, Magic Kingdom.
We ride lots of 'roller coasters'. And I get to try a 'churro'. I was surprised because I never get anything covered in sugar.
At the end of the day, we go back to the hotel and watch the movie, 'Cinderella'. I've never watched a movie that I wanted to watch before! I wonder why Anna took me here. I decide not to worry too much about it.
After the movie is over, we go to sleep. Or, Anna does. I can't help but thinking about why Anna took me here. When I absolutely can't stand it anymore, I wake her up.
"Anna? Anna?" I shake her shoulder gently.
She wakes. "Mh... Hmm?"
"I couldn't sleep."
"Why not?"
"I kept wondering why you brought me here."
She thinks about this for a moment, "I wanted my younger self to experience true happiness."
This shocks me. "Oh. Thanks, Anna. It really means a lot that I get to come here and eat whatever I want and watch whatever I want."
I can see her faint smile in the dark, "You're welcome, Anna."
-----
Today we are going to Epcot. Anna told me about it. She says that there are places around the world there. Not that they are actually there, but there are things and food there like that certain country. But the thing she says is the most memorable about Epcot is the big ball that is actually a ride. I can't wait!
We get on the bus to take us there, and I can see the ball in the distance. So far we've been to Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and Universal Studios. Today is our last day, unfortunately.
"So what was your favorite restaurant?" Anna asks me.
"Rainforest Cafe!" I answer immediately.
She laughs. "That's mine too! What a coincidence." She says with a wink. I just realized how much Anna laughs and smiles after all that she's been through.
And that's also when I notice the girl with short, dark purple hair staring at me. She looks at me with mostly hatred, but behind the hatred I can see recognition and compassion. But when somebody walks by, she just smiles devilishly and disappears.
Woah. What?
Disappears?
Disappears?
I shake it off, telling myself she was only part of my imagination. The only thing is, I can't shake the look of recognition. How does she know me?
The driver comes over the intercom; "And we are now arriving at our destination. Thank you for riding with us at the happiest place on earth and enjoy the rest of your trip."
We exit the bus, "Hey Anna, did you see a girl with short purple hair?"
"No, why?" She says.
"No reason."
The rest of the trip I can't help thinking about that girl, looking at me like she did, smiling like she did.
She ruined my trip to Disney world.
