Chapter 12

I stare in awe as the building becomes gradually bigger. It's taking up all of the view out of the window. The people become bigger, much bigger than I would have thought. They pay no mind to us, as our vehicle adapts to the terrain, we are pure white, as is the snow around us.

We glide slowly on the snow.

"We have some people in here who spy for us." Shelly says. "It should make things a lot less complicated."

"So, how do we get in, exactly?"I ask.

"Watch." She says. She presses a button that makes a couple guards move to a more westward side of the massive structure. They start opening a door for us.

"Alright. Here we go." Cameron whispers.

We pull into a very small compartment and get out. The guards that are spies take care of our car. I assume that there are more inside.

We walk through a door that leads to a hallway not unlike my very first hospital. Memories flood my mind, but I shake them away, no time for that right now.

A steady beeping sound comes from many rooms. I think this is actually a hospital, but I can't be sure. No nurses come out of any rooms;until Shelly pushes another button that summons a person in a white lab coat out of a room.

"Come on, this way." He leads us through lots of confusing twists and turns through the hospital part, and at the end he hands us off to a lady in bright orange, through a dark green part of the building.

Something tells me that Cameron and Shelly have been here before. There's a sense of familiarality between them and the huge place. They follow the people obediently until we arrive at a much bigger section than the rest, a pure white, silent room. There's a screen in the middle of one of the walls.

Suddenly, a man with shaggy blonde hair appears in the screen.

"Ah, so I see you've succeeded in bringing her here. She's very important to my research." He says.

I suddenly realize that Cameron and Shelly were not here to help; they helped me to get me here! I couldn't be more mad right now.

But, somehow the man seems to make it worse.

"R-Cameron and R-Shelly, you have done well, you are know programmed to shut down mode."

Cameron and Shelly are robots. They aren't real people. They don't exist.

They don't exist.

That's what Danica was trying to tell me! Cameron and Shelly must have beaten her for Ian, and they aren't real people because they are robots! So, therefore, Cameron and Shelly don't exist. And if they are robots, then that means that the person on this screen is Master Ian.

"Who are you?" I ask, even though I know the answer.

"Why, Anna, I think you already know." He pulls out the short whip.

"Why have you brought me here?" Another rhetorical question.

"Anna, dear, please take a seat... Let's chat over tea."

A couch appears behind me. "No. I want answers, and I want them now."

"Oh, the stubborn type. That isn't going to help you, you know. It would make it easier on both of us if you would just cooperate."

He walks out of a hidden door behind the screen.

"Because, you see, you are my guinea pig."
