Unexpected Ever After

Chapter 10

Time ~ 11:23 a.m. ~ Carters POV ~

Location ~ Kingdom of Swords - Training Grounds

     I was trying to train with Jayden, emphasis on trying, but I couldn't stop thinking of what happened at the ball with Tyler.  I just couldn't stop replaying what happened that night and how cute he looked.  It was so obvious that Jayden stopped practicing with me to ask what was wrong.  I of course wasn't about to tell him. 'Oh it's nothing, I just have the most massive crush on this guy and can't stop thinking about him every waking hour.  You know nothing major.'  unfortunately Jayden wasn't the type to just drop something, so after a bit of pushing I finally confessed.

     "Look it's nothing ok.  I'm just thinking about what happened with Tyler last night," I said nonchalantly.

     "Alright, now you have to tell me what happened that was so great about what you told me happened and why it's making you so distracted.  It's to the point where I could literally stab you and you wouldn't notice," they responded.

     "It was nothing, really.  I just carried him to his room."

     "And...  What happened that has you so smitten?"

     "While I was carrying him I just noticed that he was cute, and fragile, and just.  Ugh!  He's too cute for this world.  He even snuggled into my chest on the way to his room."

     "You know you could just, I don't know, talk to him."

     "You don't understand!  Have you ever tried to confess to someone?"

     "No, and neither have you.  I don't see the problem.  If you confess to him and he feels the same then great problem solved-"

     "No! Problem not solved!  In fact, problem is even worse now!  You know how my parents are.  They think it's better if I marry someone of the opposite gender that way the family bloodline is carried on and putting that fact aside.  What if he doesn't feel the same way?"

     "Hey.  Let's talk about his inside.  Unless you want the news to spread that you like Tyler?"

     We proceeded inside and headed to my room.  Which lead to a conversation that lasted about an hour.  During that conversation not only did I tell Jayden every single reason why I like Tyler but, I also told him at some point in the conversation that I'd consider writing a letter him confessing my feelings.  Thankfully I didn't say that I would have that letter delivered.  After Jayden left I couldn't help but wonder what would happen if I did end up with Tyler.  I could only hope that that dream would one day become a reality.

A/N Hey sorry for the short chapter but I just wanted something short to write after that party that lasted for 3 chapters.  Hope you enjoyed Carter's idk what to call it.  Next chapter will be longer (probably).
