A/N Sorry for not updating in a while. Hope you guys enjoyed the last part. My friend gave me an idea for this chapter so hopefully I can do it justice.
~ Time ~ About 10:00 (1 hr - 30 mins after Carter's apology) ~ Third Person POV ~
~ Location ~ Kingdom of Flowers- Ball Room ~
King Leo and King Ralph were talking in a secluded part of the ball room about what they were going to do about the bet. They both knew that they would not settle for the current outcome so they were thinking of ways that they could complete the bet without changing it too much. After a good bit of going back and forth the obvious answer finally hit them. They decided to change the bet to whoever's son got married first. While that solution seemed like a good idea, what they didn't realize was how much pressure they would be putting on the princes by allowing them to choose. Even though they had more options they were now the ones who would determine the outcome. If they didn't pick someone before the other it would now be their fault instead of it just being a matter of how fast they could overcome an obstacle.
~ Tyler's POV ~
I, being the loser I am, was hiding from Carter and the other few people who knew me at this party in a corner. It's not that I didn't want to talk to them. Well I mean most of them. It's just that, I didn't want to be at the party and interacting with people would make it even worse than it already was. It didn't help that I just had a conversation with someone that I've only ever talked to on one other occasion and that conversation was an argument. This one wasn't much better considering it was basically him saying sorry because his dad made him. I don't know how this night could get any more embarrassing. Unless my dad makes everyone sing me happy birthday but, I doubt he would since I told him if he did I wouldn't come out of my room for months. He knew I was serious so I don't know why he would risk what little social interaction I had.
Just as I finished that thought one of my worst fears came to pass. My dad announced that in a few moments the dancing would begin. I knew at that moment that I had to escape. I could not dance to save my life, and he knew that! So why would he have dancing? More importantly, why would he have dancing when I would be at the center of said dancing. I was panicking and frantically looking for an exit to escape my shame. Unfortunately my dad knew this and put guards at all the doors that led to an exit. This was awful. I just wanted this night to end. Then a brilliant idea hit me. I can't dance if I don't have a partner or if they can't find. I got it! I'll just hide under one of the tables until the dancing is over. As long as no one talks to me before I get there I should be fine.
I was nearly there when the guy who was standing next to Carter earlier started walking over. I thought that maybe he was just walking towards a friend, but that thought was quickly shut down when he caught up to me and started talking.
"Hey, Tyler right?" ,he asked.
"Yeah. Sorry, I didn't catch your name," I said in response.
"Oh sorry about that. My name's Jayden. I noticed you weren't looking for a partner and didn't already have one so I came over to ask what you were doing."
"Oh, I was just going to try to hide. It's not that I'm in trouble or anything! I'm just, not the best dancer you know."
"I totally get it. I also came over to ask what your sister's deal is. She's been glaring at me all night while putting her arm over her friend Kendal's shoulder. Should I be worried?"
"Wait, you know my sister?"
"Well I know who she is because Kendal told me."
